Jun isn't proud of speeding down the road in his car, but he wasn't having it today.
He is supposed to be at a cousin's graduation party in two hours and his hair is a mess. He tried everything to fix his hair, but it just isn't his day today.
Bad hair days never want to happen on unimportant days- noooo! That'd be too much to ask for! They have to surprise him like this.
After he realized there was no saving his hair without a professional's help, he immediately got ready in his suit and grabbed his car keys to find a barber shop near by.
Luckily for him the one he found on google had good reviews and wasn't too far from his cousin's college.
At least it wasn't all that bad, but then again- his hair is a mess. So much so, that he was too embarrassed to leave without a beanie on his head.
A beanie and a suit is an interesting combination but not as much of an eyesore as his hair.
Soon enough, he made it to the salon, "Change Up".
He parked and practically sprinted inside, but quickly collected himself when he saw a couple people staring at him.
He cleared his throat and went up to the front desk. "hi, I'm here for a simple cut and styling. I'm just having a bad hair day today." The receptionist smiled at him.
"Well lucky for you, we aren't really booked right now, so you'll just have to wait a couple minutes for one of our stylists to finish up with a client." Jun let out a sigh of relief as he thanked her and went to sit down in the waiting area.
To pass the time, he scrolled through his phone, but before he got too sucked in- it was his turn.
He was escorted to one of the styling chairs and was told to wait a moment for the stylist to come back.
He looked in the mirror and took off his beanie. He tried to comb his fingers through it, hoping for something to happen.
"That's rough, damn." Startled slightly, Jun put his beanie back on. The stylist, looked at Jun. "Relax, I'm here to help, aren't I?" When Jun got a good look at him, his eyes widened.
Damn he's hot!
He adjusted himself in the chair and tried to stay calm, but he couldn't help but stare.
"So do you have an idea on what you want?" Jun snapped out of his trance and nodded. "Oh yeah- well, I just want to tame my hair, I guess. Nothing drastic." The stylist smiles at him and he felt his heart burst.
The whole 20 minutes he sat in that hair, he just kept looking at the stylist and occasionally engaged in small talk.
He found himself smiling at anything he said or asked.
The way his hair fell beautifully on his face and they way he fixed it. His painted black nails with a few of them having stars on them. He's never seen anyone that's left him so speechless before.
Time flew by fast. Jun didn't want to leave. He wanted to make an excuse to stay, but he has a graduation to catch.
"Thank you..?"
"Minghao. And you're very welcome. You're all set."
He wanted to say more- but he felt too embarrassed and anxious to.
He was never to type to ask someone for their number or anything like that, so he didn't know what to do.
So he had to think of a way to see Minghao again.
I really shouldn't... Am I crazy? Is this creepy?
Jun questioned himself and he stood in front of his bathroom mirror, holding a pair of scissors- a week later.
He hesitated but cut his hair slightly uneven, so it doesn't seem like he got mauled by a bear.
"So you accidentally got your hair stuck in a blender?" Minghao questioned as Jun sat comfortably.
He nods and tries to seem normal about the situation, not wanting to throw him off.
"You do understand that that's impossible with your hair length- unless you did it on purpose, right?"
Blush creeped up on Jun's face and he sighed in defeat. "Ok, ok, I cut my hair because I wanted an excuse to come back here."
Minghao smiled. "You could've just said you wanted to try something new-"
"No. I wanted to see you," he paused for a moment. "I know that might sound creepy, because we talked for a half hour basically, but.." He confessed, not looking him in the eye; expecting to be kicked out or something along those lines.
"You're right about that part, but if you want, I'm open to talking more. You're lucky you're pretty cute." He said as he started combing through his hair.
Jun looked at him in the mirror, confused at his reaction. "Wait, really?"
"Yeah. I'm being serious. Nothing crazy though. Maybe we can grab some tea."
Jun's face lit up with happiness as he heard his suggestion. "I'd like that. You don't have to if you don't want to, though." Minghao grabbed his scissors and looked at Jun. "I'd like to."
