Joshua was waiting, in his car, outside an expensive apartment complex. Scrolling mindlessly through his phone; checking Instagram and playing a random game that he forgot he downloaded.
Suddenly, he heard a tap on his car window and rolled it down. His eyes slightly wider at the pretty person standing in front of him.
"Who are you here for?" The person asked, making Joshua clumsily check his phone. "Uh- Yoon Jeonghan," a slight voice crack slipping out as he said so.
"Great. Drive me to Campfire cafe, first. I need coffee." The person- who Joshua now knows is Jeonghan- says as he gets in the backseat of his Audi.
As soon as he checks the rearview mirror he starts driving toward the cafe. Meanwhile, Jeonghan grabs a compact mirror from his bag to check his hair.
Joshua couldn't help but glance over in the mirror to see Jeonghan. He admits that he finds Jeonghan extremely attractive. But judging by the way his passenger is dressed- taken.
He tries his best to not look so much, because he didn't want to seem like some sort of creep, but Jeonghan just looks so pretty- from the poodle-like hair, to the outfit.
As he pulls up to a stop sign, he looks again and sees Jeonghan take out either a lipstick or tint. Joshua couldn't help but gulp slightly as he watched the pretty stranger.
Soon enough, they arrive at the cafe. Joshua gets out first and opens the door for Jeonghan.
Jeonghan looks at him, slightly confused. "You didn't have to open the door for me, ya know." Although slightly embarrassed, he shrugs. "I'd think a pretty girl like you is used to this." This earns a laugh from the other.
Joshua looks confused, thinking he may have come off too much or something. "I'm not a girl." Nothing could've prepared him for what he just heard.
His pretty passenger is a man?!
Now flustered, Joshua apologizes. "I'm sorry- I thought-" "don't worry, not the first time." Jeonghan cuts him off.
Still embarrassed, Joshua clears his throat. "I shouldn't have assumed." Jeonghan smiles slightly, "it's fine. Don't beat yourself up over it, Mr. Uber driver."
I'm not attracted to men.. What is this?!
The two walk into the cafe and order their coffee. Joshua looks over at Jeonghan as he texts someone on his phone.
"Are you gay?"
Jeonghan swore he got whiplash from that question. "Yeah, problem?" He glares at his driver, annoyed by the sudden question. It's not like he didn't expect it, but he's just tried from the amount of people- men especially- that have asked him that.
Usually it either ends with the guy calling him a fab and leaving, or the guy being even more creepy and completely crossing boundaries.
So, not good either way.
He can never win.
Joshua shakes his head, realizing how sudden it was. "No, not at all, sorry, I shouldn't have asked." He mentally punched himself.
They start heading out, after they grabbed their orders and paid.
Joshua holds the door open for Jeonghan and Jeonghan rolls his eyes. This only makes Joshua more embarrassed.
He sips his coffee, sets it in the cup holder of his car and starts driving to Jeonghan's final destination.
On the way, he glances over at him again, mentally punching himself again for what he said earlier. He notices how annoyed he looks and looks back at the road.
The rest of the ride was silent and uncomfortable, not even any music playing in the background of their silence.
A few minutes later and they're finally outside a night bar. Joshua parks, but doesn't bother looking back at Jeongham; as to avoid making himself seem more like a weirdo to the other.
Right as Jeonghan was about to head out of his car, his phone rang.
Joshua watched the other in the mirror. He notices the sudden shift from annoyed to upset.
"No- no.. It's fine, don't worry." Jeonghan hangs up and sighs, leaving back in his seat. Joshua takes his seatbelt off and looks back at him. "Is everything alright?"
Jeonghan buries his face in his hands, seemingly crying. "Just drive me back," he says through sobs. Joshua frowns slightly and hands him tissues from his glove compartment. "Don't cry."
Taking the tissues, Jeonghan wipes his tears, his makeup starting to smug. "Try getting stood up three times in a row this week."
How could someone cancel on a guy like Jeonghan? He obviously puts in a lot into getting ready.
The next couple minutes go by with only Jeonghan's sniffles being heard in the car. "Do you need anything?" Jeonghan sighs and tries to pull himself together. "No, just drive me back home."
Without saying anything else, Joshua starts the engine and drives back to the apartment complex.
He finds himself checking the mirror again, but this time out of concern for the pretty man sitting in his backseat.
"Sorry for the change of plans." Jeonghan breaks the silence, as Joshua parks at his place. He doesn't get out of the car immediately and just sits there- playing with his sleeves.
Looking back, Joshua smiles slightly. "It's fine, don't mind it." Jeonghan sniffles and looks at the Uber driver. "I'll tip you extra." He says, earning a chuckle from Joshua. "No need, you've already had a rough night, it seems."
Jeonghan smiles and looks down at his lap. "Yeah, I don't really know I'm still seeing him, to be honest." "You're boyfriend?" Jeonghan shakes his head. "Situationship, more than anything."
A few minutes later, Joshua finds himself on top of Jeonghan- on his bed.
Turns out, that Jeonghan's idea of getting over his "thing" with Ming.. Mingyu? Minghao?- Whoever it is- is through a hookup.
Joshua doesn't even know why he said yes, but he did and he honestly doesn't regret it.
Jeonghan looks up at him with puppy-dog eyes as he tugs on his shirt. "Off- please," he begs. Joshua swears he came on the spot from that.
Well I guess in bi
