I was walking around the pack giving hugs and receiving handshakes. The sun was a lot brighter that day. I kept glancing at Remington to see him smiling and playing with the children. Could I even do that? Could I give him pups that were strong enough? A small hand wraps around my fingers. I look down to see a small child crying. My smile falters, "what's wrong little one?" Her lip quivers, "those mean boys are bullying me and calling my hair ugly." I lower myself to her level. "It's okay, I'll take care of it."

My feet stride over to where the boys were pointing and laughing. I cough loudly, they all turn their bodies and look up to me. " Boys you need to apologize to that little girl over there, there is nothing wrong with her hair." I point to one of the boys, "how would you feel if she made fun of your teeth, or your glasses." They utter, "sorry luna." and run off, but one boy stays behind. He growls lowly, "my dad says you are a disgrace, a human, and that they are coming soon." I blink multiple times, how could such a young pup be so hateful? I push it to the back of my head. "Please go apologize." His feet pitter patter until they meet his friends.

"You handled that well." I feel hands wrap around my waist, my mind wondered if I should tell him about the incident that happened earlier. That however is not how a luna would react. I do not need to keep going to the alpha for protection. A strong luna wouldn't complain and would protect her own, and if they have accepted me then I have to grow a pair and think strategy on how to protect Remington and his pack. "What are you thinking about baby?"

I ignore his question and put the back of my head into his chest. We rock slowly back and forth to the music. If I would've stayed in the abusive house that I called home once upon a time I would most likely be dead, either by my one hands or my fathers. The sky is a golden brown and pink, the clouds are creating a fog, but the moon is so bright that it lights up the sky with its luminous light. In the distance there is sounds of howls. "Jump on my back, let's join them."

Rheminton shifts right in front of me, no shame at all. His wolf nudges his head towards his back.  I get the memo and climb onto his back. The soft fur of his touches my finger tips and I curl my fingers into what feels like a fleece blanket. His walk turns into a light jog until he is full on running. My hair is flowing in my face, and for the first time I feel free. No worries, no overthinking. Even though my nose has a chill to I don't mind, honestly I don't want this to ever end. Other wolves are passing us nodding their head in respect for their alpha. His pack was bound together forever, they seemed connected at the soul...something I've yearned for since my mother was here. She woudve loved the beauty of this. The fall leaves falling slowly, the moon at its fullest and brightest, the different color wolves. I wish she was able to see this. The memories of my mother start to play in my mind like a broken tape and a tear rushes down my cheek. I wonder if this was a little piece of life she dreamed of for us? Would we be driving around in a car that was topless feeling the wind against our skin? Would we be laughing?  I hope wherever she is she gets to experience this and if not, I hope she's proud of me.

She is, I promise.
