Chapter seven:
[]CANIS ALATUS[]:
I breathed in the warm, but stuffy, air of the school- relishing it before we inevitably waited outside.
Heading to our different homeroom classes, we waved goodbye to each other, nodding our encouragement.
I steeled my features, putting on a smooth glare and throwing my shoulders back.
Ugh! I can't believe Ira and Kori embarrassed me like that in front of Zephyr. They probably hate me now! I was so awkward, especially after what happened yesterday.
The memory sat in my brain, making my head buzz. Unfortunately; it was all I could think about.
But now I'm in my homeroom, doing breathing exercises to 'focus, and clear our minds'.
I tipped my chin up and peeked through mostly closed eyes at the other students in the room, forcing my breath to deepen
I wasn't doing such a good job- but I don't think this stuff would help anyway. Of course, if I had a choice I would never do stupid stuff like this, but I guess if it helps us get our dogs, it's worth it.
After we had all 'cleared our minds' and all that stupid stuff, we formed a line and headed outside, clicking on our helmets, as the temperature on this planet, Xenatria, is frigid, even though it's the middle of summer.
As soon as we stepped outside, I was blinded by the bright- but don't mistake it for being warm- sun, reflecting off the pristine white snow. Squinting, I did my best to follow my group to the courtyard, and not get taken away by another homeroom by accident. Once we arrived at the courtyard, the teachers helped get us into an interestingly spread-out line. We were somewhat sheltered by the three walls and ceiling of the spacious courtyard.
I breathed in the relatively heated air from my helmet, soothing my nerves one last time.
One last time. I told myself, readying for... Well, preparing myself for this.
