Chapter 20: KOLONIA

Romantasy who?

Sorry 'bout the late update, Udon got this done a tad late!

Detention was much less boring today. Whoever thought; 'Oh dear, look at all these bad kids! Let's put them all in a room together and we'll see what happens." was not okay in the least.

A few kids nearly started a riot, and some others lit papers on fire. A welcome distraction from how deathly boring and frozen over it usually is.

The detention bell soon rang, the chaos spilling out into the halls.

I cradled the new notebook in my arms, keeping it out of view from any prying eyes.

Puffing out my chest, I took confident strides to my dorm room, glaring at anybody bold enough for eye contact.

Fortunately for me, I was one of the bosses of this school, rivalled only by Nia and Solaris. Solaris was the only one to be afraid of, with her night-black eyes, erratic attitude and raging temper. Nia was usually calm, never really getting set off.

Speaking of 'territories', there was a new kid on mine. He still has to be claimed by one of us from the 'almighty trio.'

We're called that, even though we can't work together to save a life, we would probably just kill them instead.

"Ahem." I started.

He looked at me, just a puzzled new kid at Gladius.

"Are you new?" I questioned.

He arched a black and grey eyebrow and pointed to himself. Levelling a stare at him, I curtly nodded.

"Yes-yes, I am" He croaked in a voice that seemed like it hadn't been used in a while.

After a second of tension so tight it could be cut with a dagger, I spoke up.

"Well, what's your name? Don't just stand there." I glared up at him,

"Why does that matter?" He stared down at me, blatantly dyed grey hair partially falling over his eyes in what could only be described as a 'flop' of hair.. "But anyway, my name is Zero." He said, voice brittle.

I shook my head and began to walk away. Before I could even plant my foot for another step, the guy, Zero or whatever, caught me by the arm and looked down at me with magnetic black eyes.

"Can you help me find my dorm?"

I had nothing else to said, so I angrily grabbed his hand and hurriedly led him down the hall

We ambled down the hallway hand in hand, awkward silence filling the air like my heart filled my chest as it beat so fast it was hard to breathe.

I looked up at Zero, his broad-featured face adorned with a small confused frown. It looked cute, in its own, rough, way. How odd.

Then I remembered that we were going to his dorm. Breathing in deeply, I looked at the room number closest to us and we had passed his dorm ages ago.

I sighed internally and idly thought about how I could turn us around. I might as well have let him know so we could just head the other way.

Mentally kicking myself, I plucked up every last ounce of courage I could muster, shutting and locking away tears of shame.
