"Traffic is such a bitch in this town." Damon said out loud as he hit another red light. He pulled up to the light on his motorcycle. Damon looked down at his feet. He thought about the hooded figure he saw out his window under the overpass. "Was I seeing things?" he thought. "Hey dude you sleeping?" Damon heard from a voice next to him. He snapped out of it and looked to his right. There was another biker. Damon shook his head and yelled back "No, I'm good man thanks"! The biker nodded "Good." he said as he sat back down on his bike. The biker revved his engine as if to challenge Damon to a race. Damon waved his hands "No, No, I'm good man he said. The biker nodded and revved it even louder. "Dope!" Damon heard from a car behind him. "Do it!" said another voice from another car.

Damon looked at the traffic light, which was still red. He looked back at the biker. "Ah what the hell." he said as he sat down and grabbed the throttle. As Damon stared at the light there was silence. He couldn't hear the other cars anymore. He couldn't hear the noise of birds chirping, people talking, or planes overhead anymore. The light turned green. Damon and the Biker shot out from the entrance to the freeway like bullets. Twenty, Thirty, Forty, Fifty miles an hour. They just kept getting faster. Weaving in and out of lanes, zooming around cars, and tearing down the interstate. Damon glanced down at his speedometer which read 112mph. The biker was still ahead of him.

Damon leaned forward and gave the bike more gas. The cars around him were now becoming blurry. The wind was so intense he felt like he was going to fly backwards off the bike. The RPMs were in the red. The lines on the road became blurry. A red truck swerved into Damons lane right in front of him. Damon easily zoomed around him. "Why am I doing this?" Damon thought. The sound of the wind was deafening. He felt cold from the wind flowing up his shirt. He gripped the handlebars with so much force his knuckles turned white. Damon was now about 30 feet behind the biker. Damon noticed flashing blue and red lights behind him. "Fuck me." he said out loud as the Biker waved bye to him. Damon slowed his motorcycle and came off to the side of the interstate. The cop car pulled up behind him. "Keys on the ground and step off the bike!" a voice said from the police car.

Damon sighed, turned off the engine and tossed the keys to the ground. He stepped off the motorcycle and unstrapped his helmet. He took it off and his long black hair fell out of it. He set the helmet on the ground and two police officers stepped out of the car. The officers approached him. "What the hell do you think you're doing young man?" said one of the officers. Damon opened his mouth to speak, but the other officer cut him off "Don't even answer that I don't want to hear no excuses". The officer snapped his finger and motioned Damon to come to him "License and Registration now." said the officer. Damon took his backpack off and pulled out his registration. He struggled to pull his wallet out so he could give it to the officer. "Today boy!" said the officer.

Damon angrily opened pulled out his wallet after struggling and pulled out his license and gave it to the cop. "Let's see who do we have here?" said the cop sarcastically. "Damon Archer, 22 years old. Is this the address you currently live at"? Damon looked at the cop "No sir, I'm actually moving today. I'm on my way to meet my family at my new place so they can help me move in". The officer nodded "You a student?" he said. "Yes sir, I start on Monday." said Damon The officer looked at Damon with a look of disapproval "So what the hell are you riding so fast for"? Damon looked at the ground. "You could've killed yourself and other people!" said the officer now almost yelling. Damon sat in silence and looked at the ground.

"You know, people like you are really what's wrong with the world. No regard for other people's safety. Or your own. You decide you're going to be a dumbass and make it everybody else's problem. Maybe in school they're going to teach you how to respect others". Damon clenched his fist "Why are you being such a dick"? The officer laughed and turned to his partner "You hear this Jerry? Get a load of this kid. We tell him how reckless he is being and he has the gall to disrespect us". The officer turned back to Damon "You sit tight kid". Damon sat on the ground. He knew he was in big trouble. The officer was right he was being extremely reckless by racing. His phone rang. Damon pulled it out and saw that it was Anna. He swiped to answer it and held the phone to his ear. "What's up? You almost here yet?" Anna said. Damon, looking at the cops said "Yeah, about that, I think it might be a little while". "What happened?" Anna said in a surprised tone. "I'll tell you later, for now just know ill be a little later. Tell the others would you"? "Yeah, I can do that. You ride safe on that thing. I don't like it." Anna said. "Okay, I will." Damon smiled and hung up.
