Damon raced out of the Southern exit and sprinted through the brush to get back to the car. He was running faster than he had ever run in his life. Rowen was on his way back to his apartment right now. If Rowen made it there before he did there was no telling what would happen to the artifact. Damon made it back to the car and turned it on. The tires squealed as he tore off down the road. He pulled out the phone Lucas gave him and called. "Hello?" the pilot answered. " Change of plans I need evac immediately. Send me coordinates!" Damon yelled. "Yes sir." the pilot replied and hung up. The engine roared as Damon sped down the highway. Rowen couldn't make it there before he did. Assuming he took his car it was a four and a half hour drive. It wouldn't take nearly as long by helicopter. Damon heard the helicopter overhead. He could see it's lights. He kept driving and eventually made it to the field the helicopter touched down on. Damon climbed in. "Where are the rest?" the pilot asked. "I'll tell you later just go!" Damon yelled. The pilot looked at the co-pilot confused. "Lucas wanted me to do this. Please trust me! Many lives are at stake here!" Damon yelled. The pilot nodded and took off.

Damon was anxious the entire ride. It was late into the night now. The stars were bright tonight. They were about fifteen minutes away from the private airstrip. Damon leaned forward. "I need you guys to drop me off above the university." Damon said. "We can't do that sir. Monitor orders say we can never insert above a city this big when a Monitor airstrip is nearby. It's to help be anonymous." The pilot said. The pilot heard a CLICK as Damon pressed his magnum against the pilot's temple. "I'm not playing. Like I said before many lives are at stake here." Damon said. The pilot gulped and flew past the airport. When they were above the University, Damon put his gun away. "I'm sorry it came to that. Just know contributed to saving lives." Damon said. "Wait until Rowen hears about this." the co-pilot said. "Yeah, Rowen." Damon said sarcastically as he jumped out of the helicopter.

Damon landed harshly on the ground. Yellow electricity crackled around him to heal him. As he stood up he realized his clothes were torn from his fight with Boston. He was also far from full-mast. He was about five blocks from his apartment. He ran as fast as he could there. His heart was racing. Sweat still running down his face. He had been in fight or flight mode for too long now. He whipped open the complex door and ran up the stairs. As he made it to his door he saw somone sitting against it.

Damon blinked a couple times to make sure he was seeing things clearly. It was Anna. She was sitting against his door. This was the absolute worst time for her to show up. It was neary three in the morning. Why was she here? When she saw Damon she stood up. "Oh my god what happened?" she asked as Damon ran to the door. He fumbled around in his pockets looking for his keys. "Damon, I want to talk to you. I know I've been kind of avoiding you since youg got back, but I want to talk." Damon still fumbling around in his pockets frantically said, "Anna now is not a good time". Damon couldn't find his keys. "But Damon, this is really important." Anna replied.

Damon kicked his door and It went flying in and off the hinges. "I said not now!" Damon yelled as he ran inside. Damon ran to his bedroom. Some people were now coming into the apartment hallway wondering what was going on. Anna followed him in. "Damon." she said while Damon frantically searched under his bed for the box. "Damon." she said again as he opened it up and grabbed the necklace. "Damon. She said as he whipped his head back at her. "What!" he yelled. "I-I still love you." she said softly. Damon froze for a moment. Before he could process what was happening, he sensed precursors too close. "Get down!" He yelled as he bear hugged Anna and dove out of the room. Two Precursors burst through the glass window of his bedroom. He and Anna, now on the floor opened their eyes. Damon rolled onto his back and pointed his open palm at the Precursors. "Impetum!" he yelled as they were launched out of his bedroom by the explosion. Anna screamed a terrified scream.
