"I hate the fucking snow." Damon said aloud as he stared out the window of his apartment. He looked to his wall at the calendar which showed the month December. It had X's through all the days up to the 13th. "Two more days until the semester is done." he thought to himself. The wind howled outside. So loud it could be heard from behind the windows. The icicles could be seen handing off the roof. "Winter is so depressing. It's literally like five and the sun is already setting." Damon thought. He turned around and walked to the bathroom to take a shower. He turned the lights on. He took his shirt off and turned on the water. As the water fell, he looked into the mirror and his old injuries on his chest. He poked and prodded at them. It had been three, almost four months since the rooftop incident and it still hurt to the touch. The bruising had gone down. But the pain wasn't fully gone.

Damon had become noticeably leaner, as well as bigger muscular wise. He stared at himself "I've never been this lean before." he said out loud to himself. "I'll say." a voice said behind him. Startled, Damon swung around ready to fight whoever had broken into his apartment. It was Milena. She smiled and waved at him. Damon sighed and walked out of the bathroom past her to his room. "What? It's a compliment." she said. Damon grabbed a towel from his room. He walked out to the living room and pointed at the door. "Out." he said. "I wanted to talk to you. January is approaching." Milena said. "Out!" Damon yelled. "We will talk about it later. Hopefully after you learn what the word privacy means." Damon said. "Alrighty then." Milena said while walking towards the door. "Someone's in a bad mood." She muttered to herself while walking. She opened the door and Anna was right in front of her with her hand up about to knock.

"God damn it! This isn't what it looks like!" he said as Anna stared at him with sad eyes. "Milena." Damon said with an angry growl "Get. The. Fuck. Out. NOW"! Milena put her hands up and slowly walked out the door past Anna. Anna couldn't believe what she was seeing. One tear fell down her eye as she walked away. "Anna, wait!" Damon said as he followed her. Anna did not listen and kept walking. "Will you just let me explain, this really is a huge misunderstanding" he said. "Yeah, doubt that." Anna said now opening the door to the outside.

Damon followed. As soon as he stepped outside he felt the cold bite of the Minnesota air in December. He winced. He had no socks or shoes on. He started striding towards Anna. He touched her arm and she turned around "What!" she yelled as tears were streaming down her face. At that moment Damon realized no explanation would justify what Anna had seen. How could he explain that Milena broke into his apartment without him noticing? How could she believe that she would break in and he not notice? There was no explanation he could give without explaining who The Monitors were and why he was with them. "You've been distancing yourself from me all semester!" Anna said. "Getting done with class and then immediately running off somewhere for hours at a time. Never wanting to see me or Orion. What have you been doing Damon huh?" Anna cried. Damon was now shivering. "I miss you!" Anna yelled.

"You've been with her haven't you?" Anna sobbed. "I haven't!" Damon yelled. "Well you certainly haven't been with me!" Anna replied. Damon couldn't reply. He stood there shivering in silence. "You know I'm not the jealous type. I gave you the benefit of the doubt. I trusted you." Anna said. "I didn't cheat!" Damon yelled back. "Then why was she in your apartment? And why did you have your shirt off? Anna yelled while shoving Damon with both her hands. "Huh? Tell me!?" she yelled louder as she shoved him again. Damon hugged her so she would not shove or hit him again. She started struggling and yelling "Get off of me!" she yelled as Damon hugged her. "Enough!" came a voice from behind him. Damon turned his head around just in time to feel a sharp pain in his knee.

"Fuck!" he yelled as he let go of Anna and fell on the ice-cold ground with his bare skin. He rolled over and saw flashing blue and red lights. Someone heard the commotion and called the police on them. The cop yelled "Roll over! Hands behind your back!" Damon rolled over and the cop put his knee on Damons back, pressing his bare abdomen into the ice. The cop placed his hands behind his back and cuffed him. Damon couldn't feel his toes now. The cop pulled him to his feet and turned him around.
