Still at the park

Aimy's POV

Mom kept staring at me like I had dropped a bombshell.
Then I realized how it must've sounded.
“I mean, if it's that difficult to explain, then just leave it be. I know you had your reasons for keeping this away from me, and in a way I'm glad you did. Hence, I probably would've grown up differently. But even now mom, you're still my mom, the only earthly parent I know of." I concluded. She pulled me into a hug, with eyes full of tears. Yup, it was a nice moment and all, but I was getting a little teary, so I had to pull away.

“Too touchy mom." I said jokingly, and we both laughed to that.

We headed home after a while, with our bond stronger than ever.
I could've never thought I could take such a news so lightly.
I really wonder why my real parents abandoned me, but who cares. Their mistake is what made me who I am today.

Allison's POV

What just happened?
Just like that?
There's no way that's normal.
It was definitely God. Thank you Lord.
Woo!

I know I'd still have to find time to tell her the hole truth, but for now, I'm just gonna celebrate finally getting that deep long secret off my chest.

“So, mom, there's this thing happening tonight.." Aimy said as they walked home.

That Evening

“Hi, Mrs parker." Hayley said, rushing in, as my mom opened the door.

“Hi Aimy's mom." One of Emer's friend said, rushing in as well.

“Hi." Emer said coming in after her.
This girl's night was kind of planned by her. The rest of them rushed in greeting as well, and by the rest of them, I mean Victoria. Since she was the last to come in.

“I brought cookies." She announced after greeting my mom, which made us flinch a little.
I'm sure you remember how terrible her mom's cookies taste. I'd like seriously rather eat dirt.

“Well the trash is over there." Emer said pointing to the kitchen, then we all turned to her.
“What?! We are all thinking it, one way or another." She added in her defense.

“She bought it this time." Victoria explained, dropping the box on the table. “She says she's done with baking since it's not working out for her." She added, taking a sit next to me.

“And it took her this long to realize that." Hayley questioned stylishly.

Yah, Victoria had been bringing it to almost all our meetings. It was dreadful how we had to eat it if we lost at Bible trivia games. Yah, we do that now, and yes I was the most victim at eating it, since I barely keep up. I really need to memorize my Bible more.

We had fun, watched movies, and so on. Then when it was almost time for bedtime, I thought it was the best time to announce my plans to leave with the missionary group to them.
I didn't know how, but I gotta figure it out.

The right moment came when Emer began telling us of her plans for college.

“My mom is getting this big apartment, so if any of you decide to stop by, I just want you to know there would be enough room for you." Emer was saying.

“Well, guys, I've got something to tell you." I announced once she was done talking.

“What is it? You finally got an acceptance letter?" Emer questioned excitedly. It appears she, Patricia and Harry had also applied for Stanford and had already received acceptance letters. I hadn't even received an offer, not even a conditional one, talk more of an acceptance letter.
