C2, (Old memories)

At Aimy's house 🏠

Aimy had just gotten home from school.
The house was locked since neither her mom or dad were home yet.
She picks the spare key from under the foot mat where her mom keeps it- Opens the door- then goes straight to her room to take a shower and afterwards dealt with her homework. She goes back down to get something to eat, but meets her mom stocked up with groceries instead.

"Hey mom!" Aimy said, collecting some bags from her

"Hey, honey!, I didn't know you were back already" her mom said surprisingly with a smile

"But the door was opened" Aimy replied confusingly

"I thought I forgot to lock it, or some rats visited" her mom said jokingly

"O-k-a-y" Aimy drags weirdly,
"So mom, how was your day?" she asks in an agitative manner

"Hmm, it was fine I guess" her mom replied.
"Cool" Aimy adds dismissively

"Why do I feel like you have something else to ask" her mom asks suspiciously

"Something else?, What could I possibly have to ask?" Aimy replies sheepishly

"Just spill it, did something happen honey?" her mom adds in a concerned tone

"No mom it's not like that-"
"Its my friends, they want me to go to this party with them, but I'm still unsure about going"

"Why?" her mom asked confusingly

"well for one it's a party, and two, it's tonight" Aimy replies in a stumped manner (hoping that would be enough for her mom to deny her going)

"Oh, tonight!, that is a reason to be concerned- unless" her mom trails back in, "You can crash at their place tonight, I'm not gonna be home tonight anyways, and I could just tell your dad you went on a sleepover with your friends" her mom concludes

"But I don't-"

"Okay hon, have fun. If you need any help with picking an outfit, I'll be happy to help" She pecks Aimy, then left the kitchen

"I am completely speechless" Aimy thought out loud, "what just happened" she added looking at the kitchen exit in awe

Aimy's Pov

I had just taken a shower, so I went to the mirror to fix my hair and got carried away by thoughts on how a party with kids my age will be like.
I mean I've been at parties with kids my age, But they weren't at night, and most of it were with parents.
I just hope it doesn't end up as embarrassing as my last. I threw up over a girl and a guy kissing. No offense but I'm still too young to see that.
They mocked me so hard I almost ran out, but I didn't want to end up as Another Cinderella Story, at least her face was hidden under a mask.

I got brought back from my express thought when my mom snooped in
"Mom!"

"Hey hon" she replied smiling widely, "Aren't you gonna get ready for that party?"

"I am. I'm trying to do my hair, and there's still enough time left to get ready though" I added returning back to my search for more hair pins to pin this crazy hair out of my face.

"I would think you hadn't dressed for a party before, if I weren't your mother" my mom said bending to take out some pins from my hair

"Mom!" I snapped pulling away

"Sorry, it's just been a while since I got the chance to help you with anything. You used to love me dressing you up" she said smiling mildly, amidst regrets.
