The gang had all been watching the news broadcast in silence. The volume had been turned down so they could make the least amount of noise. They watched as the screen faded to black before the movie they had been watching resumed.'Are they going to help everyone?', Zero said. If they were able to then she would have more respect for humanity.
The whole gang burst into silent fits of laughter and Zero watched them in confusion.
Taehyung wiped the tears from his eyes, 'Those rich bastards wouldn't waste a single second helping the people from the Mines', he said.
They all nodded in agreement.
'They'll be more than happy to let us all die', Namjoon added with a bitter chuckle.
Zero looked at them through furrowed brows.
'What is the difference between a 'rich' human and a human from the Mines?', she asked.
Taehyung threw a hand over her shoulder.
'Oh you clueless little bean', he patted her hair, 'Everything is different. They live in houses filled with gold while we live in houses filled with cockroaches. Money is what makes all the difference in the world', he explained like he was talking to a child.
Jungkook watched from the opposite end of the room. He wasn't exactly on speaking terms with them after the incident. He felt a little guilty for taking it too far when he lashed out at Zero. But he didn't think he was wrong to want to avoid her.
He still missed the times when they were just a simple trio that were goofing around.
He looked at Yoongi who sat beside him, with his head resting laying on a tall pile of pillows. Nanna had placed a cloth over his forehead to help him cool down his fever. Even after what he saw that day, Yoongi was still a human to him. He didn't have the heart to see the man who practically raised him as a monster.
The 'suppressor' that Zero had injected Yoongi with had helped him. He had gone back to feeling normal. As normal as one could feel when they are infected with a zombie virus. He had to take one injection daily to slow down the inevitable fate that awaited him.
'But we have something they don't have, ' Hoseok added.
They all looked at him with inquisitive stares.
'We have our leader Kim Namjoon', he patted Namjoon gently on the back.
Taehyung began chanting his name and the others followed suit.
The shy dimpled smile on Namjoon did not reflect his inner thoughts. He knew that he was too tangled up in the webs of the world of crime. He feared that he wouldn't be able to pull himself out of it without sacrificing his dream of having a normal life. The burden on his shoulder seemed to grow with each passing day.
'That's enough, we should all go to sleep', he waved them off.
Namjoon watched them all disappear to their rooms only then did he let himself relax. His smile faded, his perfect posture dropped and he allowed himself to look as worn out as he felt.
Everything he had worked so hard for seemed to be slipping from his grasp. His brown eyes roamed across the house which used to be a warm and bright place that was slowly becoming different, just like him. The windows were boarded up and the doors were clamped tightly shut.
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the world ended.
