Jin stood at the edge of the window at the city hall. He looked at his car which had been wrecked by colliding with Zombies as they rushed to the city hall. All of the faces of the Zombies had been replaced by Yoongi's face in his mind. He imagined all the ways that they had mindlessly killed the Zombies, not caring that they were people's parents, sisters and friends.

In a normal situation, he would have been devastated about losing his car but he didn't care. He would rather have his friend alive so that they could finally leave the mines.

Yoongi had finally woken up. But he hadn't uttered a word. He just stared blankly at the wall of the small room that he was placed in.

Namjoon walked up to Jin and placed a hand on his shoulder.

'I can't reach Nanna', he said.

They had no way of telling if that was bad news or good news.

They had no time to ponder before a child's scream pierced the air.

One of the survivors had carelessly left one of the back doors of the building open when they attempted to flee and return home. They unfortunately never made it past the driveway before they were captured by the creatures.

Two creatures, in search of live prey, began to wander in through the door.

Jimin sat next to Zero on the cold marble floors near Yoongi's door. She had Yoongi's grey laptop in her hands. Her fingers hovered over the keyboard in hesitation.

She gently slammed it shut when Jimin sat next to her with a camera pointed towards her.

After what Doctor Bang revealed, she was planning to hand herself over to Professor Sullivan. Namjoon had once told her that some fights are won by losing. All the problems she had were always solved with violence. This time, she feared that even her strength would not be enough to save anyone.

He didn't address her peculiar behaviour and just placed a cold water bottle in her hands.

She mumbled a brief 'Thank you' before chugging the entire bottle.

'You should stay away from me', she warned him.

He turned to look at her.

'Why?'

She looked at the empty water bottle in her hands.

'I'm going to kill your father', she stated.

Jimin rested his head on the hard wall. He didn't know how to feel about the revelation. To say he was conflicted would be an understatement. He concluded that she must have a reason.

'What did he do to you?', he asked hesitantly.

He wasn't sure he wanted to know the truth. They were more alike than he initially thought. They were both victims of the same man. Both had childhoods filled with pain and suffering.

She told him about a snowy day that marked the beginning of the continuous torture of all the mutants. The day that led her to choose her humanity over her other side.

Jimin felt nauseous as he listened. He wanted to rid himself of the Park name and the monster's blood that ran through his veins.

There was a loud piercing scream that interrupted them.

Zero could tell it was from a child on the floor under them.

The growling sounds of the creatures as they gathered made her push herself to a standing position.

She ran to the window at the end of the hallway and saw a sea of heads that belonged to the creatures. If she ran down the stairs she wouldn't make it in time to save the child. She slid open the window and leapt out of it.

Jimin stood up in shock and looked out of the window.

One hand held onto his camera. It was his first time seeing the creatures from such a close angle. He swallowed the fear that threatened to paralyse him and kept filming.

Zero had twisted her right knee when she harshly landed on the concrete. So she had to fight them while leaping on her left leg while the other one healed.

She held the freshly ripped hand of one of the zombies that lay at her feet.

Stealthily creeping behind the one that was close to attacking the child, she placed the rotting arm around its throat.

Jin and Namjoon rushed to cover the eyes of the little boy who held an empty cup in his hands. The water that he had been drinking was soaking his feet.

Zero used her body weight to flip the creature over. In the process, she broke its spine so it wouldn't be able to walk.

The two creatures still groaned as they lay on the floor. They still had the tenacity of humanity within them.

She mumbled apologies to both of them as she placed them in the large trash can outside so they wouldn't frighten anyone else. She concluded that she was as different from them as she hoped. They both had to kill first or they would be killed.

She looked at the blood in her hands with a blank expression.

Jimin was still watching her from the window.

She made eye contact with him as she looked up to stare at the darkening sky.

No words needed to be exchanged for Jimin to understand the plain devastation on her face. He resonated with the feeling of wanting an escape from what they had to become to survive.

The door swung open and she looked at Namjoon.

He looked at her with an apologetic gaze.

'Can you go check on the house? I have a bad feeling", he requested hesitantly

Zero wiped the blood that was caked on her hands on her shirt.

She nodded.

'We'll follow right behind you on Jin's truck', he explained.

He stepped closer and placed his hands on her shoulders.

'All I'm asking you is to observe what's happening and report to me, do not fight anyone'.

Zero nodded passively before she backed away and disappeared into the forest.

Jin gripped the wheel in his hands as he looked through the rearview mirror at everyone in his car.

By the sound of the engine, he could tell that this would be his 'baby's' last ride. He had a bittersweet smile on his face as he weaved through the abandoned cars to get to the hideout.
