Zero only has one goal, to be human. Escaping from the cell that once contained her, the outside world, which she longed to see for so long, is filled with more darkness than she expected.
She is faced with a world that is determined to label her a...
Jin came back to pick them up in an abandoned truck he found after making sure that the rest of the gang safely arrived at the hospital.
When the survivors in the hospital saw them carry in Namjoon who was all bloodied and bruised they tried to kick them out, with the argument that he was one of the infected.
Doctor Bang had gone mad with rage. He told them that he'd rather save the gang than a bunch of selfish pricks who did nothing but complain. He established a rule that anyone who complains will be thrown out to the zombies.
The car ride had been dead silent.
Jimin had picked up his camera and found his father's phone which must have been tossed aside by the horde.
He held them in both his hands. Both items weighted thousands of innocent lives. The weight was almost too much to bear for Jimin.
Jin had wrapped Zero up in his jacket after he had grimaced at the sight of the circular gaping hole in her black shirt.
The curious crowd parted to avoid her as they made their way to the waiting room.
The waiting room was so silent one could hear a pin drop. The gang sat with vacant gazes directed to the cold floor.
They wanted Nanna to walk through the door and scold them for missing two meals and not coming back home. But there was no home to go back to, no food in the kitchen and no Nanna.
Jimin heard the grumbling of their stomachs which they all chose to ignore. He left the room with Mr Smith in tow and found the cafeteria after asking around for directions.
He got two blue metal trays and carried the stale cheese sandwiches along with bottle to the gang.
He placed them on their laps.
Taehyung and Jungkook refused to even look at the food.
'Eat up losers,' he tried to joke to lighten up the situation.
They only stared at him with blank faces.
'I'll give a million dollars to whoever finishes their food'.
They all sat upright and began scarfing down the bland meal with the ferocity of starving wild animals.
Taehyung raised his hand and Jimin told him to go on.
'If I eat seconds will you add another million'.
Jimin smiled warmly at them. Their ability to joke meant that they would be able to make it through the grief of losing their loved one.
He nodded in response.
'As long as you show me the wrappers as evidence, I'll add another million'.
Everyone had been eating their fifth or sixth sandwich when the door opened. Doctor Bang told them that they could go in.
Namjoon looked like a shell of himself as he sat on the bed. His body was still numb from when he passed out from exhaustion.
They all gathered around him.
'You look like a mummy', Jungkook pointed out.
Namjoon glared at him playfully.
'Usually, when your friend passes out, you should be saying something along the lines of 'how are you?' or 'Are you okay?', he used a squeaky pitched voice for the hypothetical examples he used.
'You look like shit', Yoongi said.
He began poking the obvious dark circles under his eyes.
'I did not wake up to be treated like this', he complained.
Hoseok poked his shoulder playfully.
'It will take a lot more than exhaustion to take out Kim Namjoon'.
Namjoon shook his head lightly.
'Kim Namjoon is just a human', he said in a sombre tone.
'I don't think I deserve to lead you guys anymore. I've been getting sick of it for a long time but I didn't know how to tell you guys.'
They all cast sad glances in his direction.
'We can discuss what to do next after we all rest', Jin placed a hand on Namjoon's shoulder.
No one in that room did not empathise with Namjoon's feeling of exhaustion. It was obvious in the way their shoulders drooped and the dimmed lights in their eyes. They shared a moment of contemplative silence that no one wanted to break.
'Can you guys excuse us, I want to talk to Namjoon', Jimin asked.
All their heads turned to him. No one made a move to leave.
'Privately'.
They all finally got the hint and scurried out of the room, probably to eat more sandwiches.
'Anyone who gets sick from overeating will get no money', he told Mr Smith as they walked out.
