Taehyung and Jungkook were seated on the rooftop. They had developed a habit of watching the light grey wolves that ran among the thick trees of the forest. It was their first time seeing animals running around the forest.Jin and Zero were slowly heading towards the rooftop. He decided to lighten the sombre mood by retelling the tale of how he met his first love.
'I first saw the beauty in a magazine and it was love at first sight', he said in an overly dramatic tone.
Zero opened the door gently but it still creaked to alert whoever was on the rooftop of their presence.
'Then I thought to myself, Jin, when you get money you have to get this car-',
From the railings, Taehyung and Jungkook rolled their eyes in annoyance. They had heard the story so many times they began mouthing it along with Jin.
She interrupted him by pressing a finger to his lips. She flashed him a quick smile in an attempt to be apologetic.
'I think I hear some zombies so we have to be quiet, I'll listen to your story later, promise', she reassured the man before gently guiding him to the further end and slowly backing away.
Taehyung and Jungkook began discreetly giggling. No one else would have had the courage to silence him when he went on tangents about his car.
Taehyung approached Zero and pulled on her ear to announce his presence.
'Teach us your ways so that we can ignore Jin too', he said dramatically.
Jungkook's smile dropped. Taehyung was growing increasingly obvious in his attempts to reconcile them.
'I'm not ignoring Jin', she said as her eyes shifted to the side.
Jungkook gave Taehyung a look that told him to give them a moment alone.
He nodded and began backing away while whistling loudly. Jungkook rolled his eyes at him. For someone who was a sniper, subtlety was not his strong suit.
'Z', she stiffened when she heard his voice, 'Can we talk?'
She hesitated before responding. Not wanting to hear him tell her that everything was her fault. Especially when she was fighting so hard against her instincts to be more human. She gripped the railing that surrounded the rooftop so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
'I'm sorry I said all those horrible things to you'.
She turned and stared at him in muted shock.
'It was so fucking wrong of me to blame you when you're also a victim', he continued.
The word victim lithely coiled itself around her being, implying that she was weak and helpless enough to be harmed by humans.
Nevertheless, she appreciated the apology.
'I understand. If I was human like you, I think I would react that way too', she stated.
Jungkook signed in relief.
'So...we're friends again?', he asked in a hesitant tone.
She nodded in agreement.
Taehyung had been lurking behind Jungkook to listen to the conversation. He yelped in excitement as he placed his arms around both of their shoulders.
'Our trio is back together baby', he yelled.
Jin approached them and cut their celebration short.
'Tae can you yell a little louder? I don't think all the zombies in the forest heard you', he said in an annoyed tone.
'It's not like they can climb buildings', Taehyung rolled his eyes.
Jin gasped dramatically.
'I'm starting to think you guys don't like me and people who don't like me don't get my ice cream sundaes', he said before turning to walk away.
'We don't want your-',
'Shut up', Jungkook and Zero interrupted Taehyung in unison.
They all broke into a desperate sprint to catch up with Jin's retreating figure.
