Nine had expected to find Professor Sullivan angry because her entire life's work had been exposed.

He was surprised to find the opposite. She was happily celebrating with a tall glass of wine and chocolate as she sat in her seat.

He realised why she had always made him uncomfortable. All humans and even mutants were predictable to him. He could always see their behaviour patterns. But Professor Sullivan was an uncanny exception.

When she spotted him she ran up to him and hugged him. It was the first time a human had done that. The last person whom he had sought comfort from was Ten.

Nine resisted the urge to rip out her hands for daring to touch him after everything that she had done.

'I was just about to request for the President to let you come back', she smiled as she let him go.

She noticed the tick in his jaw as he glared back at her.

'You must want to kill me after hearing the news right', she asked mockingly

He doesn't respond.

'Your restraint has grown, you're almost on par with Zero if you're not harming me by now'.

She strolled back to take a long sip of her blood-red wine.

'I have good news', she sat down with her back faced to him, 'Soon we won't need the President anymore'.

'I have benefactors pouring in from all countries wanting me to show the power of my monsters', she said in a voice filled with pride.

Nine had a smile plastered on his face after hearing that.

'Everything needs to go perfectly for my plan to succeed so no more mistakes'.

A notification went off on her phone.

Nine wiped the smile from his face and went to sit next to her. He grabbed the neck of the wine bottle and chugged as he watched her reaction to the text message.

She gasped as she looked at the photo. The boy in the photo might have had pink hair instead of black but she knew exactly who he was. The image had a message attached to it. Someone out there wanted the cure.

Seeing her creation being the one to betray her was shocking.

Just as she expected, a call arrived from the President.

'What is the meaning of this? First, you threatened to destroy our nation and now my son has been kidnapped', his yelling erupted through the phone.

'I'm currently handling it sir-', she tried to appease him.

'You're sure that the virus can't spread through biting right?'

She assured him that it didn't and wondered why his voice sounded so concerned. Her head turned to flash a quizzical glance at Nine who simply shrugged in response.

'If you don't find the whereabouts of my son within the next hour, consider your precious gala cancelled and prepare to be tried as a terrorist in court', he commanded before hanging up.

She grabbed her wine glass and threw it on the floor.

'I can find Zero for you', he suggested.

Nine wanted to delay them for as long as possible.

'You are not to leave this house. I need to begin extracting your DNA to make more samples for the investors', she said sternly.

'As for Zero, I'll send the military to bring her back and incinerate her myself'.
