I was going over the short report the queen sent me that morning. She wanted me to impregnate my mate immediatly.
I let out a frustrated sigh. The last thing my mate needed was sexual contact with me. I told my mother as much but she insisted on pushing going so far as to makeing it an order. I wouldn't stand for it. I would plead with the queen to give my mate time. I wanted to cloister my mate away in the safety of my house, making sure she was healed enough before she enteracted with other people, but no one else seemed to be on board with this plan, including megan. She had previously requested an earlier entrance time into the facility and i had approved her request.
"If you keep sighing like that your going to turn old." Alan says
I didn't have the energy to deal with his antics. I had yet another problem on my hands and not being able to deal with it in person grated me. I sent a request to the queen for a holographic meeting. She replied almost immediatly and excepted. The time set for five minutes. I start to make my way to the holigram chamber, Alan following me.
"Come on ailign tell me what's bothering you." Alan says
"Unless you want to see some family drama I suggest you stop following me." I reply
"Ow I love family drama." He interjects, still following me.
I stop a moment and look him in the face.
"I'll tell the queen you said hi" I respond.
"Do that for me" He says and we part ways.
My hand goes to the pad and the door slides open slowly, cool air blowing in my face. The room is large and circular with nothing in it except a floor projector in the middle. I go to stand by it waiting for my mother to appear. Her image slowly forms from the feet up, like building blocks and she finds my eyes with her own.
"Ailign" She greets.
"My queen" I say "why did you order me to mate with Megan?"
"Ah" She says "so this is about that. I was hoping for updates on the situation on planet noroi"
"I've already sent you a detailed report on that subject." I say
"Yes but it's always nice to hear it in person. When talking details seem to come up that don't otherwise in written reports." She says
"I'm happy to go over noroi later. Right now I'm talking about megan." I say
"I want grandchildren" she responds simply.
"You have another son for that." I say angrily, my face contorting to a scowl slightly. I try to quel my temper, even if she was my mother she was still the queen.
"Your brother isn't likely to have children for a long time still. You on the other hand have a mate who can pop them out in no time." She says
"Megan isn't ready. She's still recovering." I say
"So she told me" she says
"Do not visit her again without me there." I say, my temper rising to new heights.
"I will do as I wish." She answers back "do not order your queen son."
My back straighten before I bow "I apologize mother" I say
"All is forgiven. Now you will mate with Megan and I will hear no more about this." She says
"Three months" I counter.
"One" She finally says and her eyes go wide. "But that is a kindness for you my son I do not care what her feelings are. She is a human. A lesser species. You should simply take what you want from her ailign."
My fist tightens into a ball at my side. I would not treat my mate that way, human or not. The memory of taking her body forcefully the first time still made me feel small. It made me feel like less of a man, a clink in my pride. She would be willing the next time I took her.
My mother registers the look of disgust on my face and her expression softens.
"Ailign my sweet ailign. Do not worry she will come to be gracious one day. Do not fret over her now." She turns in the hologram.
"Now it's time for me to go. Good by son." She says
I bow and the hologram disappears.
I roar as I slam open the doors to exit the hologram room. That meeting did not go the way I had wanted. The queen would not back down, and I had to fulfill my duties as the prince.
"Fuck" I mutter under my breath.
One month. I had one month to get megan to warm up to me. I wasn't sure how I was going to do it but I was going to have to try. For both our sakes.
"Alan" I call on the com. "Give me a report on the rebel forces now. We're getting the he'll off this planet as soon as possible."
"Yes prince. It looks like there almost all completely wiped out, except in the last camp." He says.
"Were heading there now." I reply.
"Prince?" He says
"I said now Alan that's an order. Get the rest of the team. I'm tired of twiddling my fingers." I say.
"Yes prince." Alan says
