"What were you thinking, running away?" Roge asked Amy
"I was thinking I wanted to go home. Where I have rights." She complained
"You have rights with me" roge said putting a hand over his heart.
Ailign grunted from the pilots chair, not wanting to hear this argument, Megan sitting in the chair beside him, happily eating away at a popsicle and watching ailign work.
"That's not enough roge. I need a job. I need purpose. To grow." Amy said
"I agree" megan interjected
"Thank you" Amy said holding an arm out to Megan.
"But I thought I was enough purpose for you. That our family would be enough." Roge said, hurt in his voice.
"You are enough roge. Enough for a partner but I need more from life." Amy said
Megan leaned over to ailign and whispered "I'd like to have a conversation with you privately as well." He nodded in affirmation.
"Roge take over." Ailign said over his shoulder.
Roge looked over to ailign "Yes my prince" he said and the pair moved down into the controls area as ailign and Megan got up to leave. Back in the sleeping quarters ailign opened a door and they both eneter, the room spacious for a spacecraft the two could easily stand a good distance away from the other. Megan took a seat on the bed, still eating her popsicle.
"You don't seem surprised I ran away" megan said.
"I kidnapped you and you hate me as you keep telling me." Ailign replied.
"I don't hate you I hate your actions. In kidnapping me that is and holding me hostige." Megan said "look that's not what I'm trying to say. I'm trying to say thank you for saving me."
"Your my mate." Ailign replied.
"And as your mate I want to change the rules." Megan said leaning back some on the bed. Ailign frowned, was he not lax enough with her already. He didn't even reprimand her for running away, all he felt was understanding.
"Go ahead. Your already terrible at following the rule to not ask to go home." Ailign said.
"I want to be in charge of myself ailign. When I first got here you gave me a schedule, forced drugs down my throat, and decided what was best for me. Not letting me decide for myself." Megan said
"I was trying to protect you" ailign said
"And all you did was push me further away." Megan said
Ailign considered her words, had he hurt her? Trying to cloister her away was for her own benefit not his. Was she really so against all she had experienced so far. Ailign cared for Megan and wanted to protect her, that was all. But this woman, this tiny creature sitting before him was telling him he had wronged her again. Was all he was doing was messing up?
"I'm sorry. I'm used to being right" ailign said
"No your used to being in control, prince." Megan said "but you can't do that to me. I'll hate you for it."
Ailign got down on both knees then, the fear of losing Megan still pumping adrenaline into his veins. He lowered his head before her.
"Then tell me what I can do" ailign said
"I already have. Let me choose for myself." Megan said
He looked up then, peering into her lovely blue eyes.
"Then it will be so" He says
Megan smiled at ailign then, and his heart skipped a beat. It was the loveliest thing he had ever seen. Getting back up from his knees he offered her a hand, and she took it.
"Now let's go here those two bicker for the rest of the journey" megan said happily
"I think i should have let those thugs kill me" ailign said and Megan let out a little chuckle.
"Thanks for talking with me" megan said
"Anytime" ailign replied.
