One was packing away some of my things, instead of the comfortable casual clothing I noted that all the garments seemed to favor utility, with several pockets and straps, I would be dressed for any occasion on a strange planet. She then picked out a heavy coat.
"Are we going someplace cold?" I asked
"You will be going to several locations" She simply responded.
"Are you coming with me?" I asked
"Yes, I will remain your primary care taker and guardian." She responded.
A nock came at the door then, walking over to push the button to allow ailign to enter, I was greated by the sight of abbs in my face. All of the house was made for larger creatures, making me feel drawfed by the smallest of details like the large doorways, and high ceilings. Only my human living room, and personal chambers seemed fit for my height, making ailign look even more ginormous.
"Are you ready to leave?" He asked me
I looked back at one who had just finished putting all the garments in the suite case and closing it.
"Yep" I responded
"Good, this will be your first time on a military vecle. I don't want you making trouble" He says
"But trouble is fun" i tease.
Ailign doesn't look amused, him stoic facial expression not changing, I try to change the subject.
"So will I really get to see all kinds of different planets?" I ask
"You'll be staying on the ship guarded." He responds, as he starts to turn to lead me to the jeep. I quickly follow after, with one on my heals, down the long and familiar hallways. My lips purse, taking ailigns words into consideration, I wonder just how much fun this trip really will be.

-------

Ailign was showing me around the military craft. The vehicle was large, with several mechians running about here and there, tablets in hand, and commands running through there lips as they worked. The ship was futuristic, favoring things I had seen in pop culture movies, but the feel was different in real life. Where once I would have goggled at the advanced and sleak machinery it now just felt cold to me, the employees ignoring my presence I felt adrift on the large space craft, only ailign by my side as an anchor. I didn't expect to feel this way, with excitment running through me when we had made it to the docking station, the look of the giant ship bringing awe to my senses, the large metal railing holding it a float, but inside it just felt like another cage I wouldn't be a loud out of.
"This is your room, it's joined to mine incase you need me and so I can keep a better eye on you." He said
"Are there other humans on this ship?" I ask, hoping for some familiarity.
"Only a couple, those who's mates volunteered for this mission." He said "you can eat with them in the cafeteria"
I walk around the empty and functional room, a small window that overlooked the side of the craft, and would soon look out and into the void.
"You can travel anywhere you'd like with a guard as long as you stay out of the way." Ailign said, his words perking me up.
"I didn't know I could explore" I said, light coming back to my eyes.
"Yes, you can being along the other humans too if you'd like" He said and gently brushed a lock of my hair behind my shoulder. I smiled at him then, my cage becoming a little bit bigger.
I plop down on the bed, feeling the silky texture of the sheets, he growls at me, his eyes darkening. I had a feeling his words 'if you needed me' had another indication.
"So what's this mission anyway?" I ask curiously. His arms cross as he stands and peers down at me.
"We have made a pack with the galactic alliance to track down some fugitives. The majority of then are of the foris race, so the galactic alliance sought us out for help. Artis is also on that list." He said
A shiver ran down my spine at the mention of artis.
"Because? You hate the foris?" I ask confused.
"They are a stain on the galaxy, our mission is to wipe them all out one day." He says with a grunt.
"And your not part of the galactic alliance your just working with them? Why's that?" I ask
"They have too many rules. Only we govern ourselves but we're on more or less friendly relations. Now that's enough questions" ailign grumbles
I grab his arm, stopping him from leaving my side.
"Wait, one more" I say "what did the foris do?"
"They consume worlds" He says errily.
"How?" I breath out
"They inilate all inhabitants, then consume all the resources, going so far as to drilling into the core of some planets and destroying them." Ailign said "if they don't outright destroy then with bombs"
"World killers" I say with wonder
Ailign shakes his head, then pulls his arm gently from me.
"I have to go now" ailign says looking at his watch, and leaves me sitting alone on the bed. After sometime I turn to one, she was standing close, tucked away in one of the corners.
"One let me know when lunch with the other humans is. I'm going to take a nap" I said
"Yes megan" One said
I closed my eyes laying there beneath the warmth of the blankets, warm air blowing on me from the ceiling vent. What would I do once ailign captured artis? I'd want to speak to him. To call him all sorts of names to his face. The image of his face kept popping up in my nightmares, and now I had the chance to see it in person again. I wondered if I'd be strong enough. I sigh to myself, trying to get comfortable for sleep, I found it difficult.

---------

The space craft lifted off into space while I was sleeping, I found out by peering out my window when I first awoke, one notifying me it was time to eat. Guiding me down to the cafeteria for lunch with the other humans, i met my body guard. I bumped shoulders with a mechian on the walk, an angry grumble coming from the man, he quickly scurried away after a glare from my body guard. I was already starting to like the guy. The hallways gleamed from the lights above, the walls so clean the metallic surface reflected my image as i passed by. The mechians soldiers were all dressed in a deep red, an explanation coming from my guard that only higher upside wore black. The hallways were swimming with red across a white backdrop.
"This is the cafeteria" one said, putting a hand out to show the space.
It was large, with several booths and tables littered throughout, it was ununique. A stood on my tippytoes trying to spot out the other human females, when my guard started leading the way.
"This is the designated table for human mates" He said motioning to a table in the far back corner. There were slots along the front wall, were food appeared after the mechs choose from a selection of buttons on a brightly lit control panel, I watched them gather there food. Ailign had the same model in all his kitchens, the stove tops never used.
"Sit and I will bring you something from the human selection." One said so I did as she instructed, the guard staying by my side.
"Cheese burger please!" I called out, hoping shed listen to me.
A human female came down the halls then, she was small for a human with sunflower yellow hair. She had an android with her who was leading the way, the model looking different then one and two, it didn't have as realistic of a face.
"Over here!" I called out to her
"Hi" She said timidly with a small wave as she began making her way to me.
"You must be one of the other mates on board." She said when she finally reached me through the chaos.
"HI I'm megan" I say holding out a hand.
"Penelope" She says and shakes it.
"So how many humans are in this tin can?" I ask her
She sits and thinks about it for a moment.
"I think one of the other girls at the facility was bragging about getting to go, one of my friends told me, but I don't know her name." She said
"Well that makes three of us at least then" I say with a smile.
"I wish there were more. The mech are so intimidating." She says lowering her voice.
"Heck yeah they are" I grumbled "hey would you like to tour the place with me later? I'd love to get a veiw of the engine room."
"I'll have to ask my mate" She says quietly, her android already off to get her food.
"Hey I understand let me know later." I say with a small smile.
Penelope was quite and shy, a sweet girl of around twenty years old. She had choosen to go with her mech she told me. Having only ever loved him in her life, it was a sweet love story. They had met at church, him handing her a leaflet, and then asking if he could sit by her. I awed and swooned at her story in all the appropriate spots.
"Micheal has approved you viewing the station" her android said at the end of lunch.
"Sweet!" I said taking her hand in mine we let the guard lead our small entourage.
