Penelope and I stood on the side lines, watching the mech at work on the space craft, I could hear ailign barking out orders as we landed, the back of his head in my sights. Mechs sat at there stations, watching there monitors and collaborating with each other. I held firmly to the railing as the ship touched down gently. What greated me, was the sight of lush trees and foliage through the glass dome of the nose of the ship.
"Trees" I breathed
The sight took my breath away, after so long being stuck on the desolate mechian planet, kerein. Some of the mechs got up from their seats then, and headed off in a line toward me, and the back of the ship. My grip on the railing tightened again as there hulking figures came close and jogged past.
"It's time to go kill some foris" One of them said patting another on the back.
How I wished I could go exploring the wild and untamed lands. To see new wonders and experiance new things. I stood there loathing my circumstances, this cage. Ailign came up to me then, after all the others had passed, he took my hand in his, rubbing my fingers in small circles.
"You should go back to your room. There's nothing to watch now." He said
"I'm going to stay here awhile" I answered back.
Ailign looked to my body guard then "make sure she doesn't touch anything" He said and the guard named fole nodded.
"I'm not a child. I'm not gonna go around poking buttons." I complain
"I know your not." He said "but I know you can be curious"
And with that he left, dropping my hand and heading off in the direction of the others, the sound of there footsteps fading, I turn to fole.
"Better watch out imma push some buttons" I say
"Please dont" He grumbles and I snicker.
After awhile boredom takes hold, and myself and Penelope head towards my quarters, with plans to watch t.v. together. Inside my room I suddenly turn on my heel when the door shuts out fole.
"How great would it be to sneak out?" I whisper
"Sneak out!? Are you sure... I dont know if we should even be talking about it" She whispers back.
"Ow come on we need some adventure" I say "we know where the weapons room is, we can steal some, head out, and have a nice adventure."
"Wed need more then guns! We'd need maps and water and food.... it doesn't seem plauseable" She whispers back, a look of worry on her face.
"I just want to set foot outside, breath some fresh air" I say
"Another problem we don't know if this planet has oxygen" She says
"We know it has some oxygen it has trees" I say, confidence radiating out of me.
"I don't know" Penelope says, leaning back and away from me.
"Then I'm going alone." I say "help me distract the guard?"
"I can do that" She says her expression lighting up.
Me and Penelope sat in my room hatching a sceme. Sitting on the bed the two girls were now arguing over the details, not sure which plan had the better chance of success. After much deliberation they decided to go with Penelopes plan, which involved the least amount of violence.
"I could just shoot him in the knee. He'd heal soon after. They all have that strange abilty." I said
"I don't like violence" Penelope said
"Good thing your not going with then" I said "because there will probably be violence"
"There's no way to know that" She said
"Ok your right." I sighed "I hope there's no violence."
"Aren't you worried about the androids reporting this?" Penelope asks
"Ailign won't read the report until I'm gone, but it means we have to act now." I said
The two girls got up from the baige sheets and headed toward the doorway, the door automatically opening from there presence, the two androids following after them.
"We want to walk around the facility again" I said to fole. He nodded, taking his place behind us as we started walking down the east hallway, our destination clear in our minds. We round a few corridors and come up to the door we wanted, quickly making our way to the pool.
"There's nothing to do in this room." Fole said
"Just a moment I want to dip my feet in" Penelope says, running up to the side of the pool, she suddenly slips and falls in. Her performance was awful, from her legs tripping over themselves to her expression as she fell, Megan thought it was completly unconvincing. Splashing about Penelope desperately yells out for help as she drowns, her head bobing in and out of the water until it stays down. Fole let's out a stream of what only could be curses, as he unbuckles his gun and starts to take his shoes off. The moment he's in the water I turn and run for it, picking my legs up as fast as I could, the door opening and closing behind me. A resignating "stop!" Coming from fole as i quickly dash off.
The lights of the long hallway were brighter then usual, with adrenaline pumping through my vein as I ran. Heading to the armory I go to the door, but it doesn't open apon my arrival, I try my hand on the padlock but the door still doesn't budge. Quickly giving up on he idea I dash down the rest of the hallway. I now had two options: try the training room, or make a break for the exit door. Knowing that one had fire arms I quickly decide on the exit door, I'd feel safer with a weapon of my own but I was running out of time before fole caught up to me or notified the other guards. Huffing and grumbling I run to the exit, passing by a few mech who looked on with confusion.
"Grab her!" I heard foles voice from down the very end of the hallway.
I picked up the speed as I dashed off, making a wrong turn in my haste, all the hallways looking the same. I breath a sigh of relief when I come across the cafeteria, knowing now where I was I continue my way, ducking into an abandoned room to catch my breath, I hear mechs running past moments later.
'I'm becoming an escape artist' I think to myself in elation.
I wait for the sound of more mechs coming near, satisfied that no more were coming i set off again, leaving the meeting room behind me. Coming up on the exit bay, I hide behind a black mesh crate. I could spy six mechs standing guard around the hanger, guns in hand. Getting up from my crouching position I scurry over to the next crate when the guards head was turned, one following behind me. I repeated this process until I came close to the exit, passing by four of the guards.
"Get ready to run" I whisper to myself. The guard nearest to me moves over to his companion on the far side and I see my oportunity and make a dash for it. I run out the side of the hanger, quickly making a left turn to go out and around the space craft. To my relief there was oxygen, it feels my lungs as I continue my dash. I hear commotion from the guards then and I make a beeline to the trees, one still on my heels. My lungs burned from the effort, and my muscled ached all over, but I kept running, the sounds of the guards fading in the distance. I make another slight right turn, wishing to get lost in the forest, and lost to the guards.
"I have sent prince ailign a report on our current location" One says after I had stopped to rest. I look over at her from my sitting position on a fallen log, the androids face blinking blue once again.
"One do you have maps of the terrian?" I ask her.
"I have maps of all planets explored by the mech, including this one." She said
"Then show me the way to something cool, I wanna see a water fall." I say
"There are dangerous fauna near this location." She merely responds.
"Can you handle them?" I ask
"Yes but it is best to move" She said
"Then let's go" I say getting up from my log. We start walking in the location one picked out as safe. On the way I had her name all the unique properties of the planet, picking out strange looking flowers and plants, there colors more vivid then earth's.
"This is delitful" I say, stepping over some wild brush. "I could turn into an outside kind of girl"
One doesn't respond to my bantering, but I don't mind, I was simply happy to be out of that cage. The trees shift from lush short trees to soon taller and more spindly ones, open fields now greeted me, over spilling with wild flowers. I stop and ask one about all the flowers, my intrique peeking at the wonderous sights. It was breathtaking.
"Were coming up on a cave" one finally says.
"Good we've been walking for miles" I say "are there any settlements in the area?"
"This planet has been labeled as primitive, with no tribes" One says
Suddenly growling can be heard in the distance, ones arms shifting, her hand coming apart and reassembling into a gun. She pushes me behind her as the sound comes closer, the creatures head poking out of the brush. It looked like a lion, with colors as vivid as the wild flowers, it's two tusks poking out of its hideous maw.
"One" I wisper and she shoots the beast square in the face, the creature making a horrible howl as it falls to the ground. She moves away from me then, arm reassembling her hand.
"One" I say
"The threat is delt with now I suggest we continue out way to the spacecraft or cave." One says
I walk up to the beast, part of its face now blown off, and inspect its fur, the splotches of color wondrous.
"To the cave" I say making my way back.---------
Ailign stood at the front of his expedition, tablet in hand. They had just finished driving, deciding to go the rest of the way on foot to the landing coordinates of the foris fugitives ships. A new message popped up from one, he wondered what was so important she'd send him a message, he ignored it, fustration at the task at hand blinding him to Megan's needs at the moment. She could wait. He needed to concentrate on aprihanding the foris. Ailign put down his tablet in the jeep, and rounded up his men.
"I want us to surround the ship in teams of two with a total of ten teams. The rest of you I want guarding the jeeps." Ailign said
"A drones have already mapped out the location and spotted two fugitives in question: rogus and a grunt. Be ready for push back from rogus."
"My prince any location on the rest of the fugitives?" One of his soldiers asked
"Not yet but we have several drones out looking for them." Ailign said
They headed out then, the soldiers being given there tasks at hand. As they came closer they crouched down in the shrubbery, the alloted teams taking there positions around the ship, eyes at there guns and on the ready they waited. With their primary target in sights ailign gave the command over the coms to shot. Rogue was standing at the hanger, perched on a barrel, gun slinger over his shoulder, watching for intruders, but he didn't see these intruders. The shots came fast and loud, rogue went down in seconds, his lucky quickly coming out of the ship to see the commotion was faced with a army of enemies, souronding him. His arms went up, a sign of surrender, ailign motioned for one group to go ahead, gun never leaving the line of fire on the foris male. The soldiers cuffed the male quickly, bringing him to his knees, ailign finally approached.
"Take him back to the jeeps and make sure he's secured" ailign said
"Yes my prince" the two soldier aaid together.
"The rest of you I want on that ship searching. They've had to had contact with there counterparts. I want to find where." Ailign called.
There was scurrying about, ailign himself taking to the shuttle to explore, standing in the hanger he looked at his watch. Maybe he should take the time now to see what his mate needed. He clicked on the notification and ones voice came into his ear. 'Megan has left the spacecraft and headed into hostile grounds.' She said.
Ailign cursed loudly while kicking the hanger, his fustrations increasing he punched a barrel. Damn it his mate couldn't stay in one place! She was always running off! He didn't have time to deal with her right now he was on a mission against the danm foris, his races number one enemy. He calmed some after a minute, his hand going to his face, he rubbed at his cheeks and up to his eyes. He had to make time for her. She was his mate, his priority.
