"One whats the glec planet like? It's not ruled by the mech is it?" I ask
"The glec planet is inhabited by a race called the gilac. It has not been overtaken by the mech. The civilization is advanced for the young planet." One says
"So he won't hand us over to the authorities." Amy said
"There are no mech authorities on planet glec" One says
"Good" Amy says somewhat lowering her weapon, and relaxing her tense body language.
The last three days artis has proven to be non hostile, going along with being held hostage, he didnt put up a fight. His cool demeanor and chatty personality caused us both to let our guards down some. The ship sways a bit, rattling the hanging buckles near me and Amy.
"One what are the gilac like?" I ask absent-mindedly
"They are a hostile race. It is not recommended we stop there. Planet nor is recommended to wait for ailigns arrival." One said
That was deffinatly not happening. We had to get rid of one on planet glec, Amy finally convincing me we were better off without the robot. She would update ailign on any new course we came up with, we simply had to get rid of her, but I would miss the strange android. Shed been my main companion for the past few months.
"How much longer?" Amy asks
"See that planet there" artis says, pointing out a large orange and green planet, the colors swirling around eachother. "That's it. Well be entering the atmosphere soon. Hold on tight" He says
True to his words the ride suddenly got very bumpy, Amy and I gripped our seatbelt and guns close to our chests as we decended down. The lights dimmed while the entire ship shook and I wondered absently if it'd fall apart, anxiety gripping my guts. I was gonna puke.
"Almost there ladies" artis called over a shoulder, his hands firmly placed on the wheel in front of him.
Suddenly the cabin stopped shaking, the sky turning clear as I looked up from my hunched position. We were here, our first stop on an ardous journey and my second alien planet.
"I know just the place to go. We're headed toward a city called lornis. It has the best market for food." Artis says
"Have you been on this planet before?" I call out over the hum of the engine.
"I have" He says
Artis lands the craft on a large docking area that hung off the side of a tower, the giant fueling pumps hanging from a the sides brought me to awe as I peered out the window. The planet was industrial, large plums of smoke could be seen coming from all over in the distance, the whole city shined metallic. I couldn't see a single speck of dirt or grass from our high vantage point. It was dirty for a futuristic city, a contrast to the mechs clean cut technology.
"It's something right. They're killing the planet though, with overpopulation and pollution but it's something to behold" said artis. "Now if you ladies want to come with me to shop your welcome too."
I look down at the large gun in my hands, wondering if I could take it.
Artis noticing my gaze said "you can take one of the smaller guns on the wall. There are holsters for them"
"Let's go megan" Amy says suddenly making her way over to our new guns, and I quickly follow, picking up a short one already in a holster. After finishing our selection artis leads us out and onto the platform. The air that greeted me was gritty and hard to get down my lungs. Amy started coughing.
"Let's get yall inside they have air purifiers." Artis said
The gilac were hideous creatures. The floors were sticky from oze that I soon realized came out of their sluggish bodies. With four tiny arms coming out of their caterpillar like forms, they were almost terrifying.
"I think I'm about ready to leave this planet already" I say
"Come on megan that's not the spirit! We're on a different planet and look how cool the locals look." Amy said pointing to an especially ugly gilac.
"Yeah. Pretty special" I say
"Fueling shouldn't take long. Let's hurry to the market." Artis says
There was a market inside the tower, two levels down from where artis parked. It was full of items I had never seen before, ranging from meats and vegtables to different kinds of tech parts. One lady one told me even tried to sell me a vegetable that prolongs life. It was pretty expensive artis scolded. Me and Amy stuck close together the whole time with one watching over us. Some of the locals, true to one's words, were not friendly, refusing us service.
"Where is artis" I ask Amy
"Wasn't he just in front of us?" Amy asks
Still in the middle of the market we begin to frantically search the place, calling out his name as we went.
"Amy some of the gilac don't look too friendly" I say noticing the hostile glares from some of the stalls.
"Maybe we should find a spot and rest awhile" She says pointing out a corner that looked oze free against a wall. We sat then in silence for a moment waiting on artis to return, holding eachothers hand.
"Are you sure we should get rid of one?" I ask again scared. I couldn't imagine another scenario like this without her constant survalience.
"Yes Megan we already decided now be ready to draw your weapon if you have too." She said
Hours flew by as we continued to wait with our supplies, but artis didn't come. Several gilac stopped to observe us, curiously taking in our figures, we were the aliens on this planet. Seconds felt like hours as i feared for my life. Snarling suddenly erupted from one of the crowd who had been watching us, as he made his way closer. Ones arm transformed into a gun again as she stepped out infront of us, in a protective stance. My own hand flew to my gun at my side, unbuckling the strap that held it in place. He continued to talk.
"What he saying one?" I ask
"He's telling us to leave this planet. That aliens are not welcome. He has threatened you" She said
He stopped in his advance toward us when we all pulled our weapons out, but he continued to yell at us.
"They're with me" artis voice came from the distance, his tall figure coming into veiw as it slowly strided towards us.
