"My prince, it's nice to see you today. Will you be staying the whole time?" Jake asked
"Yes someone has to keep an eye on you." Ailign replied.
I sat on my couch, watching the two face off in front of eachother in the living room, they stood across from eachother, ailign to my back with his hands on my shoulders, and Jake in front of me facing ailign. Jake's eyes move to ailigns hands.
"I didn't know you two were so close." Jake says with a monotone.
"It's new, and we're not that close." I say waving a hand dismissively.
"Were mates" ailign growled.
Jake looked taken aback, the low hissing click noise catching him off guard.
"Alright alight" Jake says putting his hands up in surrender "your mates I get it. Look I'm happy for you megan. Now I'm just the friend who wants to have a friendly time."
"You know I hated you a lot less when I thought you were dead, ailign growling at you actually made me kinda happy." I tease.
"Should I do it again?" Ailign asks seriously. I turn my head and give him an incredulous look.
"Ouch megan! Don't sick your wild dog on me!" Jake says and I laugh.
"Ow Jake trust me if I decided to get revenge I'd do it with my bare hands." I say
"I hate to break it to you tiny human but I'm a super awesome alien, with magic powers." He says sticking out his tongue.
I kick him in the shin, so fast and sudden he doesn't see it coming, the blow lands. I snort. Jake lifts his leg and rubs his shin, a look of displeasure on his face.
"Super awesome aliens are weenies." I say and look up at ailign for approval, he pats me on the head, somewhat awkwardly.
"Good job you might be one of the first humans to hurt a mech while in our true form." He said
"Making history!" I muse
"Haha guys it didn't even hurt" Jake says still rubbing.
"Then why are you rubbing it?" I ask
"Why megan to make you believe you've gotten revenge. I can rest easy now." Jake says
I laugh a long and throaty chuckle, the kind of laugh I haven't experienced sense being kidnapped. How much I've missed this dork. My jake.
"Ow my gosh Jake! You can shape shift! You have to do all your impersonations!" I half squel. Jake throws me his signature nice guy smile, beaming bright, and full of dimples.
"Ok megs" Jake says
The night continued on in a happy manner, ailign not understanding most of our references. Jake and I fit back together like two puzzle pieces. It was easy, it was simple. Ailign was.. I wasn't sure what he was he showed many sides to himself, kind and gentle, and overprotective and demanding. I try to focus on the conversation again, already growing tired from the several hours of socializing, I yawn. Ailign and Jake had started arguing about mechian tradition.
"I told you not to touch megan, and yet you did it again." Ailign snarled
"It was just a pat on the shoulder, and the fact mechians don't touch eachother is stupid. It's not like I can get turned on by her." Jake said
"It's polite. Something you seem to have trouble with." Ailign said
"Ow I can be polite." Jake interjects and I giggle.
"See Megan's not offended this is earth's way. Small touches are considered endearing." Jake says pointing at me.
"I'm offened. That's my mate." Ailign snarls
Jake puts up his hands again "yes my prince, I appoligize." He looks over at me and winks. I giggle.
Ailign pinching the bridge of his nose, leaves the room, seeming to be done with this conversation.
"One watch them and report any inappropriate behavior immediatly. Ill be gone for a moment." He says making his way out.
"Someone has to take a royal shit." Jake whispers at me. I lean forward to kick him, jake sitting on the arm chair at the end of the couch. He moves his foot away, evading my kick.
"Now now megan, we wouldn't want to touch." Jake says and I roll my eyes.
"Megan" Jake says looking into my eyes "convience ailign to let me mate you too"
What!? The fuck?! My eyes grown wide, as his words wink in, and confusion washes over me. I had just found out Jake was alive now he wants to start some weird love triangle!?
"Jake" I say "is that even possible?"
"It is" Jake said "in our society two mates for one female can be socially exceptable."
"I knew humans could have more then more mate but not mechians." I said
"A mech female can take two, humans can have infinite, the bonds not as strong with humans."
"Then why didn't ailign mate zela along with that captian?" I asked remembering the rumors I heard at the facility.
"Because that bastard doesn't want to share. Hes a prince." Jake said "and I heard zela mated a second male without telling the prince. She fucked him over."
"How do you know that?" I ask
"I get around" he says with a smile
I let out a deep sigh. Did I want a second mate? The idea sounded like a headache. The idea of two men pawing at me made my stomach turn. Jake took my hand in his then, squeezing it firmly.
"Look I know this is a crazy idea but think about it ok?" Jake says a small smile coming to his face "I love you megan"
"I love you too" I reply.
A snarl comes from the end of the hallway, followed by the slow tapping of feet back towards us.
"Your touching again" ailign says as he comes up on us, taking his place beside me on the coach.
"I'm sorry my prince" Jake says "I think it's about time I leave."
