In the sea of aliens of varying kinds, me and Amy made our way to the food stalls. The walk was long, having to go around the whole building from the participant entrance, but gods was it worth it. The smell of sizzling meats wafted around me, making my mouth water,as we pushed our way through the crowds. Only a few times did I stop and stare, one humanoid shaped alien with several eyes and mouths all over its body, small dangling arms coming up around his face to cover half of it, made me stand and wonder. He hissed at me with his mouth protruding from his abdomen, noticing my staring eyes, the reverberating clicking growl that echoed from one of our body guards was the only thing that made it leave. I didn't stop and stare again.
"These meats look tasty" Amy said holding the scewer up for one to scan.
"It is safe for human consumption" She said and Amy squeled, one paying the merchants.
I peered at the hanging banners around the stall, up over the congested crowd.
"Ladies and gentleman the tornamnet is about to begin!" The little translator in my ear announced, the actual announcement coming in what sounded like the mech language. I grabbed hold of Amy's arm, pulling the girl towards me.
"Amy the tournament is starting" I said taking the scewer she handed me.
"Just a little longer" She said pulling her arm back "I want to see the wears. You could get ailign and Jake something ya know." She said
The idea peaked my interest, giving in to her will we continued to walk around the booths. We quickly came apon a little trinket stall, filled with belt ornaments and jewlry, I eyed the selection for something for ailign and Jake.
"Do you have any jewlry for males?" I asked the store clerk, one quickly translating for me.
The store clerk pulled out a tray from the bottom shelf, showing me a wide selection of gold earings. I rummaged through the many different kinds, my finger stopping at a pair of diamond shaped ones with an absidian tip, thinking they looked perfect for ailign I quickly snatched them up. Next I found an oblong pair, with a flashy green center.
"Those totally look like jake" Amy said, coming over to spy my finds.
"You think so?" I asked
"Theyll be perfect once your mated. Jake has a little color to him." Amy said with a smile.
She was right. Jake was all bright colors while ailign was a hard and sleak black, the two males clashing yet complimenting eachother in my life. With their gifts picked out one paid for my purchase, the store clerk quickly wrapping the gifts with his many arms.
"Now can we go watch the preliminaries." I asked
We had already missed three fights and I was begining to worry we'd miss Jake, ailign already set to go to the finals he was exempt from the early games. Amy nodds her head, taking my hand in hers we quickly rushed through the crowds making our way to the more private entrance we had previously found our body guards at. We passed through street dancers, games, and musicians; various booths housing various things, not just wears. The harsh song of one alien squealling along to the loot caught me by surprise, wincing at the sound we passed.
"Next up is a jake verses all the way from planet nemris..." My translator couldn't translate the next part of the announcement, going staticy from the effort.
"Amy we have to hurry" I say.
We were inside the stadium now, running through the large Arch ways and to our private sitting booth near the front of the action. Standing alone, in the otherwise packed arena, we stood out. At the very top of the arena, with white and gold banners sat the royal family, were I would be expected to sit in a week's time.
"Slow down" Amy complained
"I'm going to miss jake" I said still running ahead, now almost to our booth.
Peering over the lip of the railing I spotted Jake coming out of one of the cell blocks, the metal groaning as it lifted to let Jake through. He looked splinded coming out in his all black armor, waving to the crowd before he dawned his biker helmet. On the other side came a monster. It was a flying beast, with visible claws coming from his too long fingers. His maw opened wide, appearing to have no skin on the bottom of his face, he let out a bone curdling screech at Jake. Jake took out two metal orbs, quickly liquidfying to form a sinister sword and a chain whip that he buckled at his waste. His body bent and adjusted into his fighting stance, readying for an oncoming attack.
I didn't realize I was still standing until Amy came at me, grabbing my arm and pulling me to our seats. I still held Jake's present in my hands, my grip tightening as I watched the terrifying scene before me.
Jake lunged at the beast, blade out and slashing, the beast jumped back wings flaring as he used his massive wings to help his speed. Jake was quick, much quicker then the beast as dashed forward, his sword met its target, slashing across his torso. The best let out another bone wrenching screech as it slashed with it claws but Jake dodged, rolling to the side. The beast was on him as he stood back up, claws out he struck, hitting Jake's arm, tearing away at the armor. Jake roared, moving so fast my eyes could barely register the movement as he lopped off his opponent arm with his sword, landing to the side of the monster. The beast grabbed at his dismembered flesh, crying out loud for everyone to hear. He conceded then, putting his other arm up into the air, a sign of surrender.
I let out a long breath. Jake had made it. He'd survived. The rest of the day went by went more fighting, several participants being severely injured and a few dying. I watched on in horror at the gruesome scenes, not cheering for anyone like the rest of the masses. Not until roge was up did I finally cheer. The male decked out in the same scaled armor, only this time white, he stood before the crowds arms raised in the air for cheers.
"Go get him love!" Amy squeled, the female not at all worried about her mate.
I envied her care free nature, where she was smiles and cheers I was a bundle of worry. Roge took out his sword, already formed he stood his ground, his aponant, another mech male in the same armor did the same, readying for the onslaught he bent his knees spreading them apart.
The battle went by quickly, roge one shoting his opponent, he lunged forward, sword pointed straight at the males chest, his aponant quickly deflecting the blow upward, but not intirely, the sword still finding perch in the males torso. His aponant dropping to his knees, rogue pulled his sword out and quickly held it to the man's throat.
Mech were ungodly resistant with there healing abilities, the stab to the chest not killing the male, medics were quickly on the scene helping.
"You go roge!" Amy screamed "your the best!"
