Liam

I was sitting in my parents living room with my father, uncles, brother-in-laws, and cousins watching football. Sometimes we were into the games, sometimes we weren't. The ladies were between the dining room and kitchen. The kids were either outside, in the movie room, or game room.

I glanced over to see my girlfriend laughing with my sisters and cousins. She fit so well in our family. I didn't know how I got lucky to find love again, but McKenzie sure did hold a special place in my heart. We locked eyes from across the room and she blushed. I winked and turned my attention back to the TV. She then came over and sat on my lap.

"Hey handsome," she quietly said.

"Hey, treasure."

"You alright?"

"Mm hmm."

"What's on your mind?"

"You."

"Me?"

"How lucky I am to have you."

She kissed me.

"Aren't you the sweetest."

I then heard her name being called and as quick as she sat down she was back to the dining room with the ladies. I loved the open concept of my parents' home. The downstairs was huge and airy yet each room felt like its own space. You could see just about everything no matter where you sat.

Hearing laughter and footsteps coming from outside in, I watched as my daughter and niece came towards us. Harlow sat next to my dad and Luna sat next to Uncle Ty.

"Hi, grandpa," Luna greeted.

"Hey, princess."

"Can I borrow your car?" she asked.

He raised his brow and now I was full on listening to their convo.

"Where are you trying to go, Luna?"

"We want snacks."

"Pantry is fully stocked," dad cut in.

"Uncle Brandon, we want different snacks," Luna replied.

"Dinner will be ready soon. You'll survive," he added.

"Aren't you restricted from driving for the next week?" Uncle Ty countered.

Luna groaned.

"Grandpa..." she whined.

He simply shrugged.

"I don't make the rules, Princess."

"I missed curfew one time and it's the end of the world," she pouted.

I then heard another set of footsteps coming our way and it was Logan. He looked between his father and daughter and shook his head.

"Let me guess, she's trying to bribe you into letting her borrow your car," he stated.

Uncle Ty held up his hands. Logan shook his head and sat down.

"Nice try."

Luna rolled her eyes.

"Dad, you're being unfair. I missed curfew once and..."

Logan started laughing.

"It was your third time missing curfew in the matter of a month. The first time, we let it slide because you hadn't done it before. The second time, we warned you. Last night your curfew was at 11 and you got home at nearly 1am. You really thought there would be no consequences?"
