McKenzie
Heading upstairs I called my aunt, Abigail. While my mom was no longer here, my aunt was always a constant in my life, a second mom to me. She's been by my side through everything. Hopefully she moves to Houston sooner rather than later. I know I'm not the only one that wants her closer. So do my brothers.
Hello.
Hey, mama.
Kenzie, hey sweetheart. I was just thinking about you. Why the long face? How are my babies and my future son-in-law?
I couldn't help but smile. Just how she fell in love with Lauren, Harper, and Ruby, she felt the same about Liam. She also loved all her grand babies.
Liam is fine. Therapy is going well for not just him, but me as well. He encouraged me to go as well and it was a great idea. As for your babies, Harlow is doing well. Trevor...
Oh boy, what'd he do.
Mama, he's still hanging out with those boys. Liam has been looking into how Harlow got the laced weed and come to find out, one of Trevor's so called friends sold it to Harlow's friends.
Oh my gosh.
That's what I said. Then Lance called today asking if Trevor told me about what happened at the beach. He had permission to go yes, but he ended up getting into a fight. He said he was standing up for one of his friends.
How did Lance find out? Trevor told him?
No. Lance has friends all over Texas and he asked them to look out for Trevor which T isn't happy about. He said he already has his uncles and the Law family, now his dad's friends. He's complaining it's too much.
I can understand his point of view, but if he were doing what he's supposed to, there'd be no bad reports.
You tell him that.
I will when I see him. I'm coming into town next week. On that note, I'm ready to start looking at houses in Houston.
Really?
Yes, but don't say anything to your brothers until it's set in stone. They know I'm coming next week for a visit, but they don't know I'm moving. I'll be staying at Drew's since Lauren is on the road.
Yeah, he's been missing her.
I know, but they manage the distance and her schedule well.
They really do.
Back to Trevor. What's the plan?
If he doesn't ditch his friends, I'm sending him to California with Lance.
For the Summer?
He wasn't going for the full Summer since he was doing basketball here. Lance was okay with that. He'd do a few weeks in Cali right when school ended and come back in June. Lance gave him a choice of what he wanted to do. He just recently started saying if Trevor wasn't following my rules and hanging with the wrong crowd, it might be best for him to get out of Texas altogether.
And you agree?
Mama, what other choice do I have to protect my son?
An ass whooping for starters will work.
Mama!
What? I'm serious. He fears his uncles because they discipline him. You just ground him. If you need a male to step in, yes he has his uncles, but you have Liam there. Trevor speaks highly of him and you and Lance have both given him permission to step in when need be.
