Harlow
I was frozen in my spot seeing Drake. He really took that two hour drive. Then again, he always said he'd pull up if there was an issue. True to his word. I feel like an idiot right now.
"I'll uh, give you two some privacy," Trevor said, leaving the two of us alone.
Drake remained in his spot, staring at me. I know he's had a lot of time to think on his way over here.
"Are you uh, hungry? There's leftovers," I asked, breaking the silence.
He looked surprised and then chuckled.
"You're offering me food?"
"Peace offering?"
"I'll take your peace offering after we talk. Alone. Outside. Full privacy. Now."
Why is his assertiveness such a turn on? He had moved from his original spot and was not standing by the back door. I went with him outside and grabbed one of the blankets Mama Kenz left out here before sitting down. It wasn't cold, but there was a slight chill in the air.
"I wasn't expecting you to show up," I said.
He glanced over at me.
"I wasn't expecting you to text me a video, tell me I was single, and not even give me a chance to explain."
I sighed.
"I apologize and I can admit when I'm wrong. I just saw that video and it broke me. It's hard you not being here."
"I get that. I do all I can to reassure you, Harls."
"I know, but I really am sorry for jumping to conclusions."
"Who sent you the video?"
"Luna."
He rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"What? Since when do you have a problem with Luna?"
"I don't have a problem with Luna. I have a problem with you taking a video someone sent Luna who then sent it to you and flying off the handle like you did."
"My cousin is always going to have my back."
"Harlow, you're missing my point. It's like one minute you get it and then the next you're defensive. I know Luna is always going to have your back. She called me on my way here saying she couldn't reach you and I better not have done anything to hurt you. From the very beginning of our relationship, Luna has made it clear just how protective she is over you. I get why she sent it to you, but you didn't even try and talk to me. You just immediately believed what you saw not knowing the full situation."
I took in everything he was saying. He wasn't wrong.
"You're right and I apologize."
He grabbed my hands and turned me to face him.
"Look, I get that it's hard, this distance between us. You may have worries and doubts due to other people in your ear. I'm in college, you're still in high school. All types of bullshit. I can only imagine. I don't care about all that. I know who I am and I know how I feel about you and to this point haven't given you any reason to think otherwise. I also know there's a lot on your mind right now with college and making a decision. You've mentioned staying in Texas, possibly going to Cali or going east to New York. Harlow, I love you. I'm in love with you. I fully trust you. I'm just asking for the same in return, for you to trust me."
I nodded.
"I do trust you Drake."
"Do you want to break up, Harlow?"
