FOUR weeks, I was the perfect picture of health. Sa loob ng four weeks na 'yon, tangi ko lang ginawa ay magpagaling, mag-advance study, ma-bored, at panay update sa aking mga social media accounts. It was unproductive weeks since I wasn't allowed to go out. And I understood it completely. Hindi lang pisikal ang pinapagaling ko, kundi pati na rin ang emosyonal. The kidnapping had hurt me wholly. Na kahit sa isang pagbagsak ng mga kutsara ay napapaigtad na ako sa takot.

I had come back in Cebu and remained here. Nakapag-enroll na ako kaya ayaw ko nang umalis din. Hassle para sa akin at hindi stable ang pakiramdam ko dahil sa nangyari. My parents wanted me to go home in Manila because of it, but my grandparents insisted that I remained here.

Pinakadahilan, mas mababantayan at mapo-protektahan ako rito. Isa sa mga dahilan ni Lolo ay ilayo ako kay Rasquin na kahit pinauwi na ito sa kanilang bansa ay natatakot pa rin si Lolo na mag-cross ang landas namin ni Rasquin sa Manila. Was it really a crime and illegal act to have a relationship with him? Or to even have an admiration towards him for that matter? Kasi si Lolo, he was all against it. Pero mainam na siguro 'yon, dahil baka lapitan na naman ako ng malas at madamay pa 'yong mahal nilang prinsipe.

But what happened, happened. Isang ginhawa na sa akin ang malaman na safe siya sa bansa nila at wala naman akong nabalitaan na nasira ang economic relations ng Cambrevia at Pilipinas. I was updated because my grandparents were updated, and Athena would hear the updates and she would say it to me. No, hindi sinasabi nila Lolo sa kanya, she just eavesdropped for my benefit. I was denial for her updates about him, but the truth was, I was interested to hear them.

Second week of school, I was quite comfortable with the environment. All my classmates were friendly. Some of them were chatty since they knew me as an actress and as a socmed influencer. Iyong first week, wala namang pumasok na mga teachers.

Ikalawang subject sa umaga ay napansin ko na agad ang mga nagkukumpulan na estudyante na kilala yata ako. I wasn't boastful of it but since I entered the school, I could hear murmurs from everywhere that Ivory Santiago was studying here.

That explained my teacher's annoyance while she was discussing the course outline for the whole semester. It was our major subject and she was quite strict. Panay ang lingon niya sa pinto dahil may sumisilip na estudyante roon.

"Oh please," buntong-hininga niya saka nilapitan ang pinto para buksan 'yon. "You're distracting my class, students. Kindly depart the area at once. Kung wala kayong klase, doon kayo sa quandrangle tumambay. What's your problem?"

She didn't know that I was in her class. There was no GTKY or introduction of ourselves which usually happened first meeting of the class. We had introduced ourselves first subject before this. Pumasok lang kasi siya, nagpakilala, at nagsabi ng agenda niya sa araw na 'to. It was a law subject kaya nagmamadali siya dahil may appointment daw siya the next hours. She wanted to dismiss us early.

"Wala po, attorney!" may nagsabi 'non sa labas at nagmamadali na silang umalis. I sighed. Okay lang sa school ko sa Manila dahil sanay silang makita ang mukha ko araw-araw since Grade 1, kaso rito...very new ako.
