Six

The boys were led to a wisteria house in order for them to rest and heal from their injuries- despite the fact Tanjiro was injured the entire time from his fight at Tamayo's house. Poor boy was upset that he had to fight regardless.

After cleaning up and getting checked by the doctor they all sit down for a meal. Inosuke spent the entire time trying to provoke Tanjiro by stealing his food only for the kind boy to smile and offer him more. Zenitsu watches in silence, shocked that Inosuke was so quick to forget about the box he had been so adamant about earlier.

"Tanjiro." Zenitsu finally speaks up. "No one is asking, so I will. Why is it that you're traveling with a demon?"

"Zenitsu, you knew and you still protected it?" Tanjiro smiles thankfully at his new friend. "Zenitsu, you're a really great guy! Thank you."

Zenitsu rolls around on the floor happily. "Don't flatter me so much!"

"I have a keen sense of smell. From the very beginning I knew that you were good and strong."

Zenitsu sits up, deadpanning at the other boy. "Don't tease me. I'm not that strong. I still haven't forgiven you for leaving Shoichi behind."

Suddenly Nezuko begins making noises in her box which startles Zenitsu. He stands up, screaming in panic while Tanjiro tries to get him to quiet down. He doesn't listen as he runs across the room, trying to crawl into the linen closet. He stops once Nezuko is outside of her box, growing to her normal size.

"You... You have it so good!" Zenitsu glares at Tanjiro who was trying to introduce the girl. "You were with such a cute girl? You were with this cute girl every day and traveling in pure bliss. I can't believe I stood up for you! I suffered so you could spend your days all lovey-dovey with a girl?! That's not why I got attacked by some weird boar!"

"Calm down, Zenitsu." Tanjiro panics slightly. "What's with you all of a sudden?"

Zenitsu only continues screaming. "You don't join the Demon Slayer corps just for fun! Don't treat the corps so lightly! We must purge the corps of your ilk! Purge you immediately!"

Zenitsu chases Tanjiro around the room with his sword while Inosuke simply sleeps without care. Growing bored, you begin to exit the necklace still resting around Tanjiro's neck. Feeling the sudden vibrations, Tanjiro panics and pulls the necklace off before tossing it onto his futon as he runs past it.

Zenitsu doesn't seem to notice the sudden flash of light as he's too focused on killing Tanjiro. Using this to your advantage, you reach out and snatch the back of the boys shirt, forcing him to suddenly stop and drop his sword. He screams and tries to get out of your hold only to stop the second he happens to turn to look at you.

Smiling, you wave at him with your unoccupied hand. "Yo."

"A girl?!" He spins around, dropping to his knees as he grasps at your pants. "You're so pretty! Absolutely flawless! Please marry me!"

"Don't you think we should get to know each other first?" You tease, placing your hand on top of his hair. "Besides, I don't think I can take your proposal seriously after watching the way you fawn after every girl you see."

"Huh?! How long have you been here?!" He pulls away from you to grip his hair in distress.

Laughing, you move away from him to head over to Tanjiro, throwing you arm over his shoulders. "I've been with Tanjiro and Nezuko since before he met you."

Said girl runs over to you, wrapping her arms around your waist as she nuzzles against your side. You wrap your other arm around her in return, hugging both her and her brother. Tanjiro tries his best not to grow flustered while Nezuko stares up at you happily.

The younger girl lifts her hand up, pointing towards the blindfold covering your eyes. You hum in consideration before taking it off and handing it over. She instantly releases you in order to take it from you, placing it over her eyes and holding it there rather than tying it around her head.

You chuckle softly before turning your attention back to the boys only to find Zenitsu and Tanjiro staring at you with wide eyes. You almost forgot the way people tend to react when seeing your intensely beautiful eyes due to almost always wearing your blindfold. You don't even really remember the last time you took it off in front of somebody.

"Anyways." You pull away from Tanjiro and step towards the door. "I'll be back soon."

Skipping out of the room, you rush down the hallway to search for Hisa. You may not travel with Demon Slayers but you still stop by wisteria houses randomly. Despite being hundreds of years older than the small woman, you still view her as somewhat of a grandmother. She's always welcoming towards you and willing to feed you until you're stuffed.

"Hello, dear." She greets you as you drop to your knees, wrapping your arms around her as you happily rub your face against her puffy hair. "I wasn't expecting to see you. Are you traveling with the young slayers?"

"Sure am! I figured I'd hang around for a while. I have a feeling a lot of interesting things are going to happen with this group." You chuckle as you pull away from the hug, standing up to follow her to the kitchen.

"Is that the only reason?" She questions, knowing you better than one would think.

Sighing, you plop down on the ground as you watch her begin cooking. "Kibutsuji was in the area where I met Tanjiro. I think he's going to be targeting him due to the fact that Tanjiro wears the same hannafuda earrings as Yoriichi. I want to be there to protect him and Nezuko- now Zenitsu and Inosuke, too. They haven't trained enough to be able to handle fighting any of the twelve kizuki and I know that sooner or later they'll come into contact with them."

"And what of your students? Do you not need to tend to them?" Hisa sets a few bowls of food on the table that you're kneeling in front of.

You instantly reach forward, grabbing a piece of tempura to eat before answering. "They'll be fine for a while. I left them in Nanami's care. You know how strict that man can be. Their training won't be lacking at all while I'm gone."

"If you say so, dear." Hisa sets even more dishes on the table before joining you. It's always been tradition for the two of you to share meals together whenever you randomly stop by. "Will you write to me and keep me updated on what's going on during your journey?"

"Of course! I'll write to you every single day!"

"There's no need for that." She instantly shuts the idea down which makes you pout for a moment before you shrug it off and dig into the delicious food she made. You'll have to ask her to make you a ton of bentos before you leave so you don't starve on the way to whatever Tanjiro's next mission ends up being.
