You teleport yourself, Rengoku, and the others to the Butterfly Estate, leaving the Kakushi to handle the civilians on the train. Arriving just outside of the estate, you're met with a handful of Kakushi under the command of Aoi who directs them to help Rengoku and Tanjiro into the building as they are the most injured. Zenitsu and Inosuke are ushered to follow after as they too likely sustained some injuries. You, on the other hand, don't bother following after as you know you should report what happened to Kagaya.

You waste no time at all teleporting to his home, already finding him standing on the engawa with his wife Amane. They were likely already informed of what happened and were awaiting your arrival so you could give them more details. You greet the both of them happily before following them inside to the room where the Hashira meeting from before was held. Amane helps her husband sit before exiting the room to fetch some tea and food, knowing you need to replenish some of your energy.

Sitting in front of Kagaya, you lean against your propped up knee, waiting for Amane to return so the conversation may begin. It doesn't take her very long to reenter the room carrying a tray filled with steaming tea and an assortment of snacks. You thank her as you grab something to eat, feeling absolutely starved. The two of them allow you to eat for a few moments before starting the meeting.

"I've been informed that the Upper Moon Three made an appearance. Is Kyojuro alright?" Kagaya questions, worried about his child. He views every slayer that works in his corps as his children, and he's even memorized everyone's names. It quite impressive, honestly.

"I allowed him to fight until I knew it would be too dangerous for him to continue. He sustained an injury to his eye, and a few more injuries that weren't as serious. I stepped in before anything worse could happen." You answer, recalling how you only stepped in once you knew Rengoku was about to meet his end.

Kagaya hums as he takes a sip of his tea. "So, you finally revealed yourself." It's a statement rather than a question.

"I did." You frown slightly. "Kibutsuji will likely send demons after me now that he knows of my existence. It could get dangerous for everyone to be around me."

"I have faith that they can protect themselves. If not, then I trust you will protect them instead." He smiles softly, having full faith in your abilities. "If Kibutsuji begins to send demons after you then it will prove that he fears you. It will be important to take advantage of his fear. If Kibutsuji shows himself, we can finally end his reign of terror over humanity."

You nod along. "I can only take care of him if he appears somewhere unpopulated. I refuse to sacrifice innocent lives even if it's for the better of the majority."

"I understand." Kagaya sets his cup of tea down, reaching forward to grasp your hands. "If you can take him out, then please do. But only if the circumstances allow it. I know we have been trying to strike him down for many years but we shouldn't rush so carelessly. I trust your judgement."

"And you're fine with the fact that I will die alongside him?" You question, knowing that it's inevitable. Kibutsuji may have no control over you, but you were still created from his blood just like Tamayo. If he dies, so do you.

Kagaya's smile falters slightly. "I have always viewed you as family, and I love you deeply. However, I know that death is inevitable even for those who are practically immortal. I have prepared myself my entire life for the day either you or I will die. While I will mourn, I will not regret."

"You better have them build a statue in my honor." You joke, trying to lighten the mood.

It seems to work as Kagaya and Amane both chuckle. "Of course."

The conversation changes to a lighter topic after that. You ask Kagaya about how his children have been, and he asks how your visit with your students went. For hours the two of you sit there and talk, neither of you seeming to mind the passing time. It isn't until the moon is high in the sky that you finally say your farewells to him and leave, heading back to the mansion.

Wanting to take your time returning, you choose to walk, enjoying the quiet of the night. You're about halfway to the estate however when that quiet is shattered. "(Y/N)!" A voice calls out, and when you turn you find Mitsuri waving her arm high in the air. She rushes towards you, her companion continuing his steady pace, obviously not in a hurry to be near you. "I heard what happened! Are you alright?"

Mitsuri throws her arms around you the second she's by your side. Chuckling, you pat the top of her head. "I'm fine, Mitsuri. There isn't a single scratch on me. I'm the strongest, remember?"

"I know!" She pulls away, staring at you with wide eyes that glisten with unshed tears. "I just couldn't help but to worry when I heard that you fought an upper moon! I was really scared!"

"Thank you for worrying about me." You give her a bright smile which flusters her. "What about your friend?" You tease, knowing the man couldn't care less about what happens to you.

"Ah, Obanai and I were out eating together when we got the news, and with it being night he offered to come with me." Mitsuri explains.

"Oh~ A date?" You tease, flustering the girl even more, and even Iguro's ears turn a bit red. "I'm jealous~ Why don't we go on another date, hm?" You question, referring to when she brought you food and the two of you had a picnic together. It wasn't actually a date but knowing that the two like each other makes you want to stir up from friendly jealousy.

Iguro glares at you and you stick your tongue out in reply. Meanwhile, Mitsuri is redder than ever, practically stuttering over her words. It seems you've broken her as she fails to give a coherent answer. Laughing, you pat her head once more. "I'm just joking! Come on, let's go see how the others are doing."

🤞TAISHO SECRETS🤞

🌌 You weren't actually joking about asking Mitsuri on a date. She's quite cute and fun to hang out with

🌌 Kagaya doesn't want to admit it but he's heartbroken at the thought of you dying, not living long enough to meet his children's children or any generations after

🌌 Amane used to think you and Kagaya had a thing but after she married him she was told about your status as a demon and how you always look after his family. She never admitted her thoughts to anyone

🌌 Obanai hates you because you're a demon, but now he hates you even more after seeing the way you interact with Mitsuri
