Fifteen

You sit amongst your students and friends, listening as they all chat with each other. Inosuke and Itadori are arguing with each other, Inosuke demanding Itadori to admit that he lost while Itadori keeps trying to correct him on his name only for Inosuke to claim he's saying it right. Megumi is silent as usual, looking annoyed at all of the yelling. Nobara, on the other hand, is attempting to have a conversation with Kanao only for the girl to flip a coin and remain silent. Surprisingly, even Kocho is at the table, a soft smile on her face despite the obvious annoyance shining in her eyes. She's probably annoyed not only about how loud everyone is being but also at the fact that you kind of just barged in and told the one older butterfly girl to prepare a feast.

You simply sit there, an amused and pleased smile on your face. It's been so long since you've gotten to have a meal with your students and you're greatly looking forward to it. It definitely feels more lively with the others as well. Usually it's Nobara and Itadori arguing with each other, so it's nice to see them doing it with other people for once. Poor Tanjiro is trying his best to get Inosuke to calm down but it isn't really working as he simply tells Tanjiro to shut it before returning to yelling at Itadori. You can also see that Nobara is beginning to get annoyed at Kanao's lack of answers.

"So, these are your tsuguko's?" Kocho questions, starting up a conversation with you in hopes of learning more about you.

"I guess you could say that." You shrug, taking a sip of the tea that was prepared.

"We're her students!" Itadori cuts in, having stopped arguing with Inosuke and is instead holding him back with one hand as he tries to fight him. "She has a few others but they're currently out on missions right now so they couldn't join us."

"And you teach them to be Demon Slayers?" Kocho hums, intrigued. "What breathing styles do they use?"

Nobara turns her attention away from Kanao, growing bored with trying to converse with the silent girl. "We made our own."

"Oh? Was it difficult?"

"Not really." Itadori answers, finally free from Inosuke trying to fight him as the boar boy grew distracted from food being placed in front of him. "Gojo-Sensei is a great teacher! She helped us make our techniques."

Kocho returns her attention towards you. "Was it not complicated trying to teach them something you cannot do?"

"I have hundreds of years of experience watching other slayers create and learn techniques. With that much experience, it wasn't too hard figuring out how to teach through explanation. Plus, Nanami helps out too with the stuff I can't really do such as wielding a nichirin blade."

"Your students seem quite lucky to have you." She sounds a bit melancholic and you're curious as to if she ever had someone to teach her. You know it's entirely possible to learn and create your own technique all on your own so there's a possibility that she did. However, you vaguely recall hearing of insect breathing before, so you're not too sure. And despite your eccentric and nosy ways, you're not going to be rude and question her about it. Not when she was kind enough to take you and your friends in.

"Hey! Stop that!" Itadori's shout puts a stop to the conversation between you and Kocho. Glancing over, you see Inosuke trying to grab some of Itadori's food in attempts to provoke him into fighting him. It's an amusing sight watching Itadori hold his bowl up, trying to keep it out of the boar boys grasp.

"You stupid boar! Learn some manners!" Zenitsu scolds, becoming tired of dealing with his antics all the time. At this point he's missing when Inosuke was all depressed, laying in bed not doing anything or speaking.

"Please stop fighting." Tanjiro tries to carefully intervene only to be completely ignored. Itadori and Inosuke continue their strange fight over the food while Zenitsu yells at them to stop, and poor Tanjiro tries his best to calmly settle everyone down. At some point Itadori bumps into Nobara while trying to back away from the boar boy, leading to her joining in on the argument.

"Are these really the people you chose to travel with?" Megumi questions, staring at the group in distaste.

"Yep!" You throw your arm around Megumi's shoulder, making him grumble in annoyance. "They're fun, right?"

The rest of the evening is spent like this, lively and full of energy. It's been awhile since you've had this many people around you and you find that you're enjoying it quite a bit. It's a shame that Nanami and your students are leaving in the morning. You wish they could stick around longer but they still have training and missions to do. For now, you'll just enjoy the time you have with them.

🌌 Megumi finds Kanao to be the most tolerable since she doesn't talk. He does think it's kind of weird that she always smiles and uses a coin to make decisions, though

🌌 Nobara was starting to get pissed at Kanao constantly flipping the coin only to never say anything. She was secretly thankful when Itadori bumped into her as it gave her a reason to stop trying to talk to the other girl

🌌 Shinobu was a bit disappointed that nobody went into further detail about your students breathing styles
