Children of Moon

Chapter 5

Clan house looks like a mess when Joong and Dunk got there. All the people inside the meeting room were shouting at eachother. Joong and Dunk looked at each other before they went inside.

Room felt quite after seeing that the boys have arrived. For some reason Dunk had a hunch that all those shouting has something to do with them.

"Finally, You two are here. Please come in." Dunk's dad called them. Joong's dad was beside him. They both looked exhausted. Joong and Dunk didn't say anything. They just went to their fathers and sat beside them.

"Because of the current events that happened around the clan, lots of  wolves has started to question our pact. Most have started to rebel." Joong's dad started.

"No one wants to die for someone else. Especially when they are not even your own kind." One werewolf said looking directly at Dunk. Dunk looked down. He knew the older wolf was right. He couldn't say anything to defend himself.

"That's why we decided to bring back the old tradition." Dunk's father spoke.

"What tradition?"

"A marriage between wolves and vampires."
Joong's father said.

"What?" Both Joong and Dunk screamed. They both were shocked with the sudden announcement.

"Who is going to marry who? Don't expect me to sacrifice my son for some wolf." A older vampire said. He was clearly annoyed with the announcement.

"We don't want our children to sacrifice for some vampire either."  Older werewolf also started to argue.

"Stop it. All of you." Joong's father growled and all the vampires and werewolves became quite.

"We have decided who is going to marry. So you don't have to worry about that." Dunk's father said and then he looked at Joong's father.

"In the next full moon my son will be getting married with his son." Joong's father said pointing to Dunk's father.

It took a while for Joong and Dunk to register what he said.

"What?" Joong was the first to react. He was so shocked.

"You decided? Even without asking us?" Joong screamed at his father.

"Today's meeting ends here. All of you can leave now. " Dunk's father stood up. All the other clan members stood up and left the room. Only Joong, Dunk and their fathers left in the room.

"I know this is so sudden. But we did not have a choice. wolves are rebelling and some even considering leaving the pack. We can't let that happen son." Joong's fsther explained to Joong their situation.

Joong understood very well what his father was saying. But he couldn't agree with him for not asking from him before announcing the marriage. For whole time Dunk didn't say anything. Joong looked at Dunk worryingly. Dunk was looking at his hands. He didn't raise his head once.

"But it is supposed to be our choice. You should have at least tell us before hand. We looked like fools Infront of the elders."

"You need to understand the responsibility as the pack alpha's son, Joong."

"I know what my responsibility is. What I'm saying is-"

"Enough Joong. They are right. This is our responsibility. I totally understand your reasoning, and I am really sorry you were dragged into my mess." Dunk stopped what Joong were saying. He had very guilty look in his face.

Joong couldn't say anything after looked at Dunk's face. He couldn't bear to see that sad look in his face.

"It's not your fault son. It's not anyone's fault." Dunk's dad said to Dunk holding his shoulder. Dunk heaved a sigh and get up from his seat.
