Chapter 17

Joong saw Dunk sleeping wearing his shirt. His heart hurt seeing Dunk's painful face. Joong crouched down beside Dunk and stroke Dunk's hair softly. Dunk sighed in his sleep, like he felt Joong's presence.

"Dunk, wake up." Joong said softly. Dunk opened his eyes and looked at Joong.

"Joong, did you just came?" Dunk asked rubbing his eyes and trying to chase away his sleepyness.

"Yeah. How are you feeling now?" Joong helped Dunk to get up. Then he sat beside him. Joong raised his hand to touch Dunk's neck but stopped and looked at Dunk asking for permission. Dunk noded his head and finally Joong stroke Dunk's neck.

"It feels much better now. I don't know what happened." Dunk tried to ignore the feeling he felt.

"It's just a mating thing. Your mark is new. So, it needs the care from your mate. That's why it hurts when I wasn't around."

"Oh.. What should we do now?"

"Nothing. I just have to be around you until it heals." Dunk's eyes widened with shock.

"What?? Are you serious ?"

"I told you, you'll need me." Joong said smirking.

"What do we going to do about college?"

"I already talked with our fathers. They told us to take a leave about a week."

"Oh.. okay."

"Did you had lunch?" Joong asked getting up from the bed.

"Not yet."

"Okay. I'll make lunch. Sleep more if you want. I'll wake you up when lunch ready."

"No, I'll help you." Dunk said getting up from the bed. The shirt he was wearing was too large for him. So it slipped down from the shoulder and his milky white skin was revealed. Joong couldn't stop himself from staring at Dunk's shoulder. Dunk noticed Joong staring at him and quickly put the shirt back on.

Joong felt embarrassed and his cheeks turned red. He quickly turned and left the room. Dubk didn't bother to change his clothes. He went to the kitchen with Joong.

They talked a lot about very random things on eachother's lives while cooking. Aroma of the food filled the air as they finished cooking.

"Joong, since we are not attending the college this week how about we try to find about those Wendigos?" Dunk asked while they were eating. Joong looked at him with a serious face.

"I thought you already forgot about it."

"No Joong, even Nick kidnapped me to give mr to Wendigos. How can I forget about it?" Dunk saw Joong's eyes filled with anger when he mentioned Nick and Dunk felt goosebumps rising seeing him. Joong sighed before asked Dunk,

"But where we going to start? The elders or our fathers won't tell us anything."

"I think I might know someone who knows. But they live far away. It's going to be a long journey."

"We have a whole week. It won't be a problem. But who are we going to meet?" Joong asked curiously.

"They are my grandparents from my mother's side. They lived in a village near the sea."

"Near the sea?" Joong asked suprised. Their clans lived middle of the country. So it would take about two days to reach the sea from where they live.

"Yeah. If we leave tonight we can make it to there by day after tomorrow."

"I can't drive at night." 

"I will drive. We can take turns." Dunk was determined to leave tonight. But Joong thought hard about everything.
