Chapter 18

Dunk awake next morning and turned around without opening his eyes. He felt something was wrong in the bed. Like something was missing. Or rather someone. Dunk opened his eyes and he was right. Joong was not in the bed.

"Joong." He called Joong but no one answered. Dunk got up and check the bathroom but he was not there. He tried to call Joong but there was no service at all.

"Where did he go this early? Did someone kidnapped him? Did the hotel owner do something to him?" Dunk was stressing and worrying about Joong. He thought hard to what to do. Just then the door of the room opened and Joong came in with a bag in his hand.

"Oh you are up. I thought you'll sleep some more." Joong said like nothing happened and Dunk's face turned red with anger.

"Where did you go? Why didn't you tell me before leave?" Dunk screamed at Joong. Joong was so confused why Dunk was angry at him.

"What happened? Did someone try to attack you?" Joong asked worriedly. He grabbed Dunk's shoulders and checked him for any sign of injury.

"No. I thought someone attacked you. Or someone kidnapped you. I thought I lost you." Dunk said. His eyes filled with tears. Joong couldn't bear to see Dunk's tears. So he hugged Dunk tight.

"Hey. It's okay. I'm fine. Nothing happened to me." Joong stroked Dunk's hair slowly. Dunk hugged Joong and take deep breath inhaling Joong's scent. He calmed down eventually.

"I went to buy us some breakfast since the dinner wasn't good either. I found a bakery owned by a very kind lady. Look what I got for us." Joong said showing the bag in his hand. It was filled with different foods.

"Don't ever do that again Joong."

"I promise. I'll never leave without telling you again. okay?" Joong promised. Dunk noded his head agreeing.

"Come on. Let's eat. We need to hit the road before sun goes up." Joong said taking the food out. Dunk came to him and sat down.

They hit the road again. They realise that the atmosphere was different than their home. The air was dry. But it had a salty taste. They saw that even the trees and plants were different.

By the afternoon they reached to the sea side. It had been long time since both of them had seen the sea. They couldn't stop being awed by the sight.

"Should we stop a bit?" Joong asked seeing that Dunk was excitedly watching the sea.

"No. We can see it all we want at my grandparents' house."

They came to a beautiful town. The streets were filled with small shops. There were flower shops, pastry shops, coffee shops and vintage book shops. It had a very old looking library. They could clearly see that the town was old.

They drove pass the town. Dunk show the way to Joong. The road ended at a cliff. They drove along the cliff until they reached a house near the cliff.

The house was at the edge of the cliff. Sun was setting behind the house and the garden was shining in gold. There was a lavender farm near the house and it was blooming with beautiful lavender flowers. The whole area smelled like lavenders.

Joong entered the car into the garden. A middle aged looking lady came out of the house smiling. Dunk get off of the car and ran to her. Then he hugged her tightly.

"Grandma, I missed you so much."

"I missed you too my boy." The lady stroke Dunk's hair lovingly. Joong came behind and the lady looked at him with curious eyes. Dunk broke the hug.

"Grandma, This is Joong. My best- My husband."

"Oh.. He is handsome than I thought."

Joong blushed with the compliment. He couldn't hide his red cheeks and Dunk smiled seeing him.

"Does he handsome than me?" A voice came from the behind and a man with a well trained body was standing near the gate. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt, a big round hat and big boots. He looked like a farmer.

"Grandpa" Dunk ran and hugged the man. The man's face break into a kind smile seeing the running boy. He hugged him back.

"It's good to see you my boy. You have grown up."

All four of them went inside the house. It was beautiful as the outside. It looks cozy and warm. There was a small  living room, dining room and a kitchen. The living room had a balcony facing the sea. Sun was setting and the view was beautiful from there.

"The view from here is so beautiful." Joong said smiling. He was so awed by  the scenery.

"Wait until you see it from my room." Dunk said smiling. Joong looked at him confused.

"Why don't you show him the room Dunk. I'll make dinner. You make yourself comfortable." Grandma advised and Dunk noded his head.

Dunk went through the dining room. Joong followed him. Dunk stopped at a door. Joong thought it was the door of the room. But when Dunk opened the door Joong was surprised to see a staircase leading to the ground. What confused him most was that they were already in the ground floor. So the staircase was leading them to underground.

They came straight to a bed room. There was a big bed in the middle. And a closet in a corner. The room was in the side of the cliff and There was a balcony opening to the cliff. Joong went to the balcony. It felt like he was at the edge of the world. The sea was beautiful with the setting sun. It made a whole new world.

"Wow.. This is really beautiful Dunk. How come you never invited me here before?" Dunk only smiled at Joong.

"Do you sleep here?" Joong said showing a metress at the balcony.

"Yeah. If it's not too cold." Joong noded.

"Do you want to take shower before dinner?" Dunk asked showing the door to the bathroom. But Joong shake his head.

"You go first. I want to see the sunset." Joong said turning back to balcony. Dunk shaked his head smiling. Joong looked really happy looking at the sea and Dunk couldn't help but be happy seeing Joong's happy face.

They both showered and went upstairs for dinner. The dinner table was filled with different types of sea foods. Both Joong and Dunk ate happily. It was after so long they get to eat sea food.

"Grandma, Your cooking skills are still the best. Even my mom can't beat you at cooking." Dunk said eating almost all the foods. Joong noded agreeing with Dunk.

"This is the best crabs and prawns I have eaten." Joong also complimented Dunk's grandma.

"You two didn't come here to just see us right." The grandpa asked after finishing the dinner. Joong and Dunk looked at each other.

"We heard about everything happened with you. So you can asked whatever you want. We'll help you." Dunk's grandma said taking Dunk's hand in her.

Dunk felt relieved after hearing that. He didn't want to lie to his grandparents. Dunk looked at Joong and Joong noded his head giving him the confidence he want.

"Grandpa, we want to know about the Wendigos and the history of them with us."

Dunk's grandparents' face turned to serious after hearing the word Wendigos. At that moment Joong and Dunk knew that it was going to be a long night for them.

Next chapter will be about the history and the first warewolves and vampires.
