"History. What is this word? And why we are learning it? There's a lot of meanings when it comes to that but let me go with one that I should say to all of you in this class. Now pay attention. History is where we learn about the past. The events, the ones that changed the world, the ones that changed our lives, as well as the ones that led to violence in this very own planet. But I'm thinking you're wondering, why are we doing this, to ensure we don't make the same mistakes those people, your ancestors, our ancestors have made and to ensure that our future is in great hands." History teacher Ms Johanna has been doing this lesson since what ever years they had. She's been a teacher for this school for a long time. Some would say she's been doing this for 20 years, some 15. But no one would ever know how long she's actually been doing this. But for the amount of time, she still remains young. Some people who seen her for the first time would think she's 28 years old. But that would be a lie if she's been one of the veterans. Even if students asked her how long she has been doing this, she wouldn't give them the right response.
Danny, drawing on his notebook, Amy, laying back on her chair, and Joe, sleeping but hiding it through putting his book in front of his face. Tricking Ms Johanna into thinking he's actually concentrating in class. If she was that smart.

She notices Joe, with the book in front of his face. Seeing this, she focuses her attention on him, stops saying something slowly before calling out his name. "Joe, Joe are you there?" Joe doesn't hear here. A response would have helped the both of them to avoid them being in this situation. He makes no answer from her. She moves her head, in irritation, shouting out. "Joe!!!"

He awakens, with the impact of knocking his book off the table. Waking up, he's unsure of what's happened to him right now, only coming up with two words, 'I'm awake, I'm awake,' in a repeated manner.

"Were you sleeping in my class?" Being honest leads to trouble, but lying would lead to more trouble for Joe. Sleeping in class isn't allowed in school. That would immediately lead to a worst punishment sleeping students would have to face, detention. Once in detention, the sleeping students would have to be taught the subject of the lesson again. One Joe doesn't want to come across with. Until he finds an excuse to let her leave him with the warning. Breaking the warning would lead to detention. The chance is all he got.

"No I wasn't. But if I did. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done it." Making Ms Johanna move her head. In disapproval. Not believing in his answers, his own 'excuses'.

"You shouldn't have. And you know what happens if you do."

"Yes. I know what happens if I do sleep in the classroom. But even if I did, I have to say, I'm truly sorry. I won't do it again. I promise. And that promise I made starts now." Crossing his arms and laying himself on the chair. Both, the teacher and the student, stare at each other. He gives her a smile, arrogant. Her eyebrows, giving him a frown, close to giving him the detention. Till something crosses her mind. A lot of students, watching the both of them, waiting to see what Ms Johanna will say next.

"I still think you slept. But you got yourself off with a warning." Joe feels relieved.

"Oh thank you. I promise, I won't do it again."

"Yeah, Yeah, you and your promises. Now put your concentration back into the lesson." Now that problem is now relieved, they all return to the lesson.

Ms Johanna continues talking, presenting the subject to the students. "Well that worked well." said Danny. Danny's sitting in between Amy and Joe. Allowing him to talk to either of them, as well as to not move around and let himself struggle on hearing what they're trying to say.

"It always works. Always works."

"Yeah, until this one time in Biology where you were caught sleeping during a practical activity and almost set the place on fire." Danny laughs a bit while containing the feeling of being shocked by what he has just done due to his sleeping habits.
