A plate of the ice cream burger, being delivered to a table. A big plate. Howard looks on the opposite side of the table. Along with Jen next to him. Smiling and excited.
"What is that?"
"It's an ice cream burger. One of Randy's Christmas Specials." Looking at it closely. It looks really new. Really different.
"Come on Danny, try it. You might like it." Danny observing it. Taking notice of it. Amy and Joe are next to him. Also unsure if it taste good.
"Well worth a shot!" Holding the bun with both his hands. The ice creams didn't fall off. Taking a bite out of it. Chewing it slowly. Slowly and slowly. The taste of it. So good, amazing. He immediately moans in happiness.
Jen and Howard smile over that fact. Amy and Joe join in. Taking a bite out of the burger. Eating it, chewing it before swallowing it. It's so good. They all want to have another bite at it.
"So do you guys want the Christmas special too?" Amy and Joe immediately respond to it. They want it. Want it now. Making them really hungry. So hungry. Even if they still want their BBQ chicken wings.
"Okay then. Kaleb." Kaleb approaches them.
"Yes Howard."
"Let's say we order two more of the Christmas Specials."
"Oh so you like them now." Amy and Joe, becoming a bit embarrassed over it. Jen, looking at them, accepts the order.
"Okay two Christmas Specials coming up." He roller skates back to the till.
"Whoever came up with this idea deserves lots of recognition." Howard and Jen laugh over what Danny has just said.
"Oh I know." Jen looks a bit down. After looking at other customers having a great time, and the diner staff members going around, some of them sitting with the customers. She misses Gary.
"Jen, hey. It's okay. Remember even in death, Gary is happy that we're together. Well and alive." Jen smiles and a bit of tears coming out of her eyes.
Howard immediately hugs Jen like his older daughter. Cheer up. That's what he wants right now. In this diner, it's always an amazing time to be happy. Together, as one big family.
Things have been really great for all of them, Danny was able to recover from his injuries, despite being in the hospital for weeks. Something he really hates doing. Amy and Joe continued their studies and were able to achieve significant improvement in their grades. Howard, continues his job as an uber driver. Howard and his wife may not have gotten back together but being with the teenagers and Jen, they're the only people he sees now as family after spending time with them for months.
Max, his real name, is forced to remain in the Red City Mental Hospital, rather than a prison, due to his mental health. Jen and Howard wished it was a prison but the kid does deserve another chance if he got the right treatment from the doctors. Danny wouldn't see it after what he has done to him, forgiveness is something that cannot be achieved.
The trio have eaten their Christmas Specials. Outside the diner, Amy and Joe go inside Howard's car. Danny and Jen go to their car. Ready to drive off. Before leaving, he approaches Howard.
"Howard!" Looking at him, wondering what he's about to say.
Hugging him tightly. "Thank you. For everything." He hugs him back.
"Oh don't sweat kid. Also, I want to thank you as well. For saving me. Now go home and enjoy the holiday with your sister. I'll see you again."
Danny laughs. "Yeah Howard." They both part ways, going inside their own respective cars before driving off.
Jen and Danny, back in their cars together. Driving in the road. Passing by lots of cars. Seeing everyone in Red City walking with their winter coats. Families coming together and friends spending time to enjoy the holidays the best way they can.
Driving towards a house. A completely new house. After what happened months ago, the house solicitors gave them a new house to stay. One that is perfectly safe for them in Red City. Even if Jen wished that she could move back to London, her studies were in the middle of the way. She couldn't afford to miss it. The solicitors gave them many houses they can go with it.
Made it to the house. Jen looks at Danny on her left side. "So Danny, you ready to go?" Danny doesn't move. He freezes. Looking at the house.
It may not be the house he used to live in in Red City but looking at it, even at the door, making him freeze. Unable to move. Don't want to go inside.
"Can we... go home later?" Jen looking at him. She wants to go home now but she knows how Danny is feeling.
"Danny, are you sure? We're already here now."
"Jen!! Please..." The terrible incident that happened over the night, changed Danny. Every time they go to that new house, it always reminds him of everything that happened ever since they moved to the city.
Jen sympathises with him. Understanding. "Okay then..." They don't say anything to each other for a few minutes. Before turning her attention back to her brother.
"Do you want to go to the city centre?" Danny doesn't smile immediately but thinking about it...
"Yeah. We can." Jen, smiling. Restarts the engine of her car.
Now out of the parking, they drive off. To the city centre for fun. Once the fun is gone, they will drive back. Till they made it Home.
