A few weeks later
Author's POV
Everyone were busy attending lectures and maintaining their 75 percent attendance as the final exams of the year were approaching. Siya, Swati and Siddhant were being very attentive in the lecture even though it was boring while Raghav and Aarav were just waiting for this torture to end.
There were still 15 minutes for the lecture to end but just then, a few seniors walked in and asked for the permission to make an announcement. The professor allowed them and took a seat on the chair.
One of them started, "Hello guys! As you all know that in less than 2 months our final exams will take place and after the vacations, we'll be having a lot of fun activities in our campus and many more intercollegiate events. One such event is the 'Dance Mania'. It's an intercollegiate dance competition and you'll be performing with a partner. The pairing will be between a boy and a girl. The competition will be in two rounds and will start after the vacations end. So, put your dancing shoes on and start practicing. But before that, make sure that you register yours and your partner's name. We have put up a desk in the campus. Meet us there if you have any queries regarding this competition. All the best!"
After the announcement they thanked the professor and left while Swati and Siya looked at each other with excitement in their eyes.
Soon, the lecture got over and everyone started leaving the class. Siddhant dragged Aarav towards the library as he wanted to return some books.
"Siya, you are participating in this competition, no matter what! You're an amazing dancer and I'm sure you'll easily beat everyone in the competition. I'm so excited," Swati said and squealed in excitement.
Siya laughed at her antics while Raghav said, "Does she even know how to dance?" and earned a smack on his head from both the girls.
"She's an amazing dancer okay! I've seen her dance and I know how passionate she is about dancing," Swati said glaring at Raghav.
"And Raghav, you can't even walk properly without tripping on air, toh tu kuch bol hi mat." Siya mocked Raghav and both the girls laughed out loudly making Raghav pout.
"Siya what are you waiting for now? Jaa aur apna naam register kar jaldi." Swati said and Raghav nodded.
"Yeah, I'll talk to Kabir and then register." Siya said looking down at her books. Swati looked at her in disbelief.
"What?" Siya asked to which Swati replied,"Don't tell me now you'll take Kabir's permission to take your life decisions."
"It's not like that. To participate in the competition, I'll need a partner and Kabir is a good dancer. So I'll ask him to be my partner. And ofcourse, I don't need his permission to take my life decisions, so chill." Siya said making Swati sigh in relief.
"He must be on the football ground. I'll go ask him and then we'll register. You guys wait for me in the canteen. I'll be there in a few minutes." Siya said and walked out.
At the football court
Siya went near the bench where Kabir was talking to his teammates.
"Hey Kabir. I want to talk to you about the dance-" she got interrupted by Kabir.
"Siya just wait for some time, this is important", and he continued talking to his teammates.
Siya was a little taken aback but she decided to wait. After 5 minutes, Kabir came and sat beside her and held her hands in his and asked her what happened.
"Kabir, there's a dance competition which will be held a month after our vacations. I want to participate." she said excitedly.
"And are you asking for my permission to participate?" Kabir asked.
