Author's POV

It's been 2 weeks since that party. The incident gained popularity among the students as the 'most famous guy' of the college got slapped by a girl.

This led to a lot of rumours passing around among the students. Kabir, to save his reputation tried to make his image clean by telling fake stories of how Siya never took out time for him and how he was the only one putting efforts into it. The others who didn't know what exactly Kabir did believed him and this way, Kabir gained sympathy from them.

On the other hand, Siya was completely heartbroken. She wondered what wrong did she do to get betrayed by the person she loved. The breakup with Kabir and his words made Siya doubt her own self. She thought she wasn't enough. Kabir gave her major trust issues too.

While so much was happening inside of her, the people around her made it even worse. Whenever she left her room, the girls in the hostel would give her dirty looks and talk shit about her without knowing the truth. Siya couldn't confront them because she was too busy to fight with the feelings that were overwhelming for her. And thus, she decided to stay inside her room for as long as she could.

Siya's POV

I was still feeling numb. The constant stares and taunts from the girls were just adding to the storm inside of me. How can I be so dumb to not understand that I was being cheated? How could I blindly trust him with my whole heart?

That's it. This was a lesson for me. From now on, I shouldn't trust anyone blindly. One heartbreak was enough for me. I can't do this again.

I was sitting on my bed near the window staring blankly at the sky as I was lost in my thoughts.

Swati snapped her fingers infront of my eyes and broke my trance. She asked very softly,"Hey, how are you feeling now?"

I just nodded but Swati didn't seem convinced with it.

"C'mon Siya. Kabir was an asshole. You should be happy that you're out of that toxic relationship before it could get worse. Look on the brighter side darling. Kabir doesn't deserve you. And anyways, let's not talk about him. Just look at you. Literally any guy would fall for you. You have that charm. Don't waste your tears on someone who left a diamond in search of silver. Tu meri sherni hai yaar!"

Somehow, Swati's words brought a tiniest smile on my face but it fell as soon as she asked me to come to the college along with her.

"Swati, I don't want to come. I don't know what people must be thinking about me but their stares and taunts are just too much. I'm not yet ready to face them. So please, don't force me to come." I said pleadingly.

"Look Siya, you shouldn't care about anyone. Log 2 din gossip karke bhul jayenge. But now if you want to take some time for yourself, It's completely alright. You should always put yourself first. So, I won't force you to come along. Take your time. I'll be back soon." She said and side hugged me.

I am so grateful that I've got Swati and Raghav as my bestfriends. In the past 2 weeks, Swati has taken care of me as if I'm her own child. Raghav cannot come to the hostel but he video calls me twice or thrice a day and talks to me to make me feel better. They avoid talking about Kabir and anything related to him. They're trying their best to make me feel good.

"By the way, Aarav constantly keeps asking about you. Last 3 days, he couldn't attend classes because of his tennis match. But still he called to check on you. And Siddhant asks about you everyday too. I'm glad he was there with you that night." Swati told me while leaving.

Aarav is a really good friend too. Ever since that incident, he texted me twice to check if I was alright. Even Siddhant was worried about me, so he asked Swati about my well being. Two days ago, Siddhant sent a cheesecake for me. He handed it to Swati and she gave it to me. I made a mental note to thank them.
