Cas came with the beer to see Sam looking at him in awe and Dean reading a lore book about angels.

He was not reading, he was frantically searching for why Sam was looking like he had seen a ghost or in their case, seen the Devil's true form.

He gave the beer to Dean and sat next to him, "You were a seraph, so what? I don't understand Sammy's reaction, I never do", Dean said confused muttering the last to himself and Cas smiled at his unknowingness and tucked Dean's hair back stroking it lightly.

"He wasn't any seraph Dean, he was the seraph", Sam said and Cas looked at him and smiled acknowledging its truth.

"What do-", Dean stopped his eyes widening, "You mean the first seraph?", Dean asked and Cas nodded.

"How did you find out?", he asked Sam, "Well you said that you were commanding a garrison, that could only mean that you were one of the higher-level angels, and when the other angels were scared to even lay their hands on Dean, I had a doubt, but when you said seraph, that could only mean one thing", Sam said.

"Every angel is afraid of archangels, but lower-level angels, foot soldiers, or even seraphs are scared of the first-ever seraph created. This is because that seraph has the power of an archangel and the ability to wield God's power", Sam said and Cas nodded.

"That's why you became God because you can, but it hurts your mortal body", Dean said and Cas nodded.

"So a seraph is", Dean started, "The highest echelons of angels. They're the Burning Ones, the serpents of purifying flame, who cover their faces and feet with two pairs of wings and fly with the third", Cas said.

"Wow", Dean muttered as Sam's eyes widened more at the information, "They are the kindlers and enlighteners, regarded as angels of clarity and action in various mythologies. In Judaic mythology, they are placed in the fifth choir, which is considered to be the upper-middle rungs of Heaven. In Christian mythology, they are described as the first choir of the first sphere, which is the highest order and they are believed to be the personal guardians of God's throne.", Cas explained enjoying the brothers' shock at the revelation.

"And a garrison is?", Dean asked and Cas smiled softly, oh he loved his husband, "When we refer to a garrison, we are not just talking about a squadron or group of people; instead, we are referring to the entire armed forces stationed at a particular base. In human terms, this means an entire city. Therefore, when someone mentions a garrison, they are talking about all the angels assigned to watch over Earth.", Cas said, and it was Dean's turn to fall out of the chair but Cas held him.

"Thanks", Dean muttered in a daze, his beer long forgotten, "And you gave all that up for me?", Dean asked still in a daze and Cas smiled.

"I would do that again in a heartbeat, you mean a lot to me Dean, you both do", Cas said holding Dean's face softly, and Dean smiled and kept his hand over Cas's.

"One minute", Sam said, "If you were the first seraph and if you were powered up thanks to Jack, you are not just an archangel, you are-Oh my Jack", Sams said getting up.

"It's ok Sam", Cas said and Dean looked confused, "What the hell is happening, I am already confused and in shock", Dean said and Cas chuckled.

"Dean, Archangels are known for their immense power in battle, but they are unable to contact God directly. This is one of the reasons why Lucifer rebelled. On the other hand, Seraphim are the most powerful angels overall, as they have the ability to witness God directly without any obstacles.", Sam explained.

"Ok so?", Dean asked, "Cas is not just any archangel, he is the first and only seraphim archangel", Sam said and it was Dean's turn to get up shocked.

"That means", Dean stopped unable to form words, "He is the most powerful angel to ever exist", Sam said and Cas shook his head smiling, and got up.

"Guys I am still your Cas", Cas said, "My husband is the most powerful angel, my baby in the trench coat is a seraphim archangel", Dean muttered and Sam rolled his eyes.

"I know where this is going, I am gonna go meet Eileen, you two do whatever you do", Sam said still in shock and wanting to leave the place immediately, he needed time to process the fact about his best friend.

Cas stepped forward and took Dean's hands in his, their wedding rings glinting, "Heyyy", he said softly making Dean look into his eyes.

"I am sorry", Dean said a little guilty, "Oh Dee, why honey? I am more than happy and grateful, thanks to you", Cas said and they were suddenly in their room.

He had started calling Dean as soon as they got together, Sam called Dean that when he first spoke, but then he stopped, feeling it was too intimate and Dean doesn't do chick-flick moments.

But he always liked it when Cas called him that, the way the name rolled in Cas's tongue made him realize how much he loved the angel.

"But you had to lose a lot for me, you lost your wings, you lost your grace... you fell", Dean said as Cas guided them to the bed, Dean curled into Cas's chest realizing how safe he was and how for the first time he was protected by someone who loved him.

"I gained a lot too, a family, a son, a position, especially you", Cas said pausing and Dean smiled against his chest.

"And I fell for you, in every way imaginable", he finished kissing Dean's head, "Sap", Dean muttered and kissed Cas's chest.

"I love you." The words come out of Dean's mouth as naturally as the feeling he's been built over the years.

There are no fireworks, and the world doesn't stop in its tracks. Sparks don't fly, and it seems as though the entire universe has long adapted to this truth. Voicing it is like wind hitting ocean water - there's some disturbance, but the components don't change. Things don't change much at all. The current will always be there, sometimes slow and calm, other times wild and feral, but it will never waste away. Never.

"I loved you first," Cas said earnestly, slowly pulling Dean's face up to meet his own. Their eyes locked - green with blue - and the world seemed to stop for a moment this time.
