"Well hell is torture for everyone, personal torture and there is a spell in hell that when a soul finishes its punishment, its memories are erased and sent to reincarnation, but if an entity like an angel pulls out a soul, that soul will forget all the good moments that happened there", Cas explained looking at the floor and keeping his breathing even.
"So if that spell is cast, let's say you don't want to do something like something against God as you think, you go there, do that, and come out, you forget anything happened, you don't feel the guilt", Cas said and got up.
"We have to go there and tell them, that being in the LGBTQ community or anything related to that isn't wrong and pull them out, because the more time they spend there, the more they won't wish to come out and the more they won't remember when they come out, it would create chaos", Cas said.
"Wait one would forget the good things in hell?", Sam asked and Cas nodded looking at him, "As if good things ever happen there", Dean scoffed and Cas looked at him with pain in his eyes for a moment before looking away.
"I probably won't have my powers there, because no angel has tried to stop it so far, but if we find the root of the spell I can take control after that", Cas explained, but Dean was trying to make him look into his eyes, he noticed Cas's pain.
"So let's get going shall we?", Sam asked and Cas nodded and immediately left for their room, Dean soon enough followed.
Cas was folding Dean's clothes while in deep thought, Dean immediately understood that something was wrong, Cas only does chores to get things off his mind.
"Baby", Dean said snapping Cas out of his thoughts who blinked and looked away for a minute before turning with a smile on his face.
"Yes, Dean?", Cas asked, "What's wrong? And please don't tell me it's nothing because I know it isn't true", Dean said taking Cas's hands and Cas chuckled.
"Of course you noticed, ok, come on, it's better to sit down", Cas said guiding Dean to the bed and he knelt in front of Dean.
"This is long", he said taking a deep breath, "When I raised you from hell, it didn't take me minutes or hours, it took me years, 10 years to be precise", Cas said and Dean went to interrupt but Cas stopped him.
"Let me finish please", he said. Dean nodded too shocked to say otherwise, "When I first laid a hand on you I really was lost, not only because of your soul's brightness and your innocence and honesty and all that, but because deep down you were turning demon, your soul was turning demonic and you were still fighting it", Cas said a tear dropping out of his eyes but he wiped it quickly.
"So it took me nearly a year to heal your soul before we traveled and you were falling in love with me, I fell in love with you as soon as I touched you, but you were falling in love for the first time", Cas continued.
"I knew that you wouldn't remember this and I explained that, but you still wanted to be together with me, we were together for 10 years and we passed and resisted each stage of sins when we were coming up, everything except one", Cas said and paused closing his eyes.
Suddenly it dawned on Dean, "When I asked about your virginity the first time, you were vague, you were dodgy because we were already... it was lust", Dean said and Cas closed his eyes nodding.
"I was holding your soul, the deepest of your soul when I was raising you and we hadn't done anything else other than kissing, so we lost control at a point and my punishment was never to meet you again even though you forgot me", Cas said kissing Dean's hands.
"That's why I was so adamant in bringing you back, my soul recognized you and wanted you back", Dean said in shock, Cas smiled getting up slowly as Dean's eyes watered.
"If you hadn't summoned me, I wouldn't have come, that's the first of my rebelling", Cas said and Dean looked up at Cas with tears slipping out of his eyes.
"So we were already in love for 10 years and yet you still let me treat you like that? You have been in love with me for 23 years Cas, how could you do that to yourself?", Dean asked getting up agitated.
Cas smiled and cupped Dean's cheeks wiping those tears away, "Oh sweetie, you have been in love with me for 23 years too, otherwise, how would you have thought to trust me without knowing anything about me, how would you have pulled back on your snarks, how would you have called me Cas?", Cas asked.
"It was instinct... but you don't call someone by their nicknames after you meet him", Dean said everything dawning on him.
"Hey, hey, stay with me here honey, it's alright", Cas said and Dean wrapped his arms around Cas's waist.
"I'm here, but can you... can you make me remember those?", Dean asked, "Dee-", Cas started but Dean interrupted.
"Can you?", he asked and Cas nodded, "Then I want to remember it, please", Dean pleaded, Cas closed his eyes and touched Dean's temples with his both hands and Dean started remembering them.
Dean held onto Cas's shoulders as he was unable to hold onto them but he smiled as tears dropped out of his eyes.
Cas was the only source of light throughout that dark, painful hell. He opened his eyes and gazed into Cas's eyes.
"Thank you", Dean whispered drowning in those blue eyes not for the first time, "Thank you for always being my light", Dean said touching their foreheads together.
Cas smiled and pecked his lips, "Always, always Dean Winchester, it will be always for you", Cas said and Dean chuckled and pulled his husband into a more deep, passionate, and thankful kiss.
"I love you Castiel Winchester", Dean said pulling away to breathe, "I love you too Dean Winchester, today, tomorrow, and forever", Cas said and they kissed again.
