If I Could Run

Chapter 8

After shopping with Mike I went to my room and put away those new clothes he bought. I was about to turn on some tv when there was a knock at my door.
"Katie it's me." Said Mike.
"Comin." I rushed to the door and let him in.
"I wanted to talk to you." He said. I closed the door and sat next to him on the bed.
"I wanted to talk about that kiss."
"Sure." I said getting a little nervous.
"Can we go on the balcony?" He asked
"Ya sure." We walked to the balcony and I closed the door. By now it was sunset and it was beautiful. The ocean and the sunset together looked like one of those paintings you see and can't keep your eyes off of.
"So Katie," he said facing me and holding my hands. "I really like you."
"So do I." I said back,"I mean so do I like I like you too." I corrected myself nervously. He laughed a bit and then smiled. Holy cow that smile could light up a whole city.
"Wanna be my girlfriend?" He asked nervously and brushing the bangs out of his eyes. My face lit up.
"Of course I will!" I sorta yelled. I wrapped my arms around him and he held me close. Then we kissed again. I felt like one of those movies where the girl is kissed at the perfect time, the sunset. Then I went to grab the door knob to go inside and it wouldn't open.
"Oh my god, it won't open!" I said turning to him. Then I laughed and he joined me.
"I guess we're stuck for a while." He said. "But at long as I'm with you I'd love to be stuck forever." I blushed and we kissed again. We sat down leaning against the wall. I texted Amelia telling her where we were. She finally came to my room a few minutes later and let us in. We stepped in and then she looked at us and smiled,
"Are you two..like..." Then she made her two pointer fingers go together and she giggled.
"Yes we are." Mike said and then he hugged me.
"AWWWWW oh my god! Finally!" She yelled, "have you kissed yet?"
Then we both smiled and said, "maybe..."
We knew she wouldn't leave until we kissed so we did.
"OMG SO ADORABLE!" She screamed jumping up and down.
Then Mrs. Johnson yelled up, "Dinner!"
We all ran down starving as could be and seated ourselves. Me and Mike tried to not make eye contact because we didn't want our parents to know quite yet. But we couldn't help it. We'd glance up and meet eyes and then look down and start to laugh.
"What's so funny you two?" Mr. Johnson asked us. Mike and I exchanged looks and then he nervously said,
"Just thinking about a funny cat video..."
I giggled. What a great excuse.
"Yes there was a cat that fell down trying to jump." I said back containing my giggles. Mr.Johnson gave us a weird look,
"Ok..." He said. I went back to looking at my plate and ate my food it was Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, and garlic bread served with a soda of our choice. Again, they made one of my favorite meals. Once I finished Mikey whispered to meet me out side. And that's where this story gets more interesting.
