Authors note:
Hey guys, I'm so sorry I've been trying to think of what to do but don't worry I know now so prepare. Anyways, enjoy the chapter!"Where did you say you found her again?" Asks a new voice as I lay down somewhere with my eyes still closed.
"I found her in the cave, sir along with that boy. She came to help him when I tried to take the boy back here on my own. She fell and passed out right as more men arrived to help me take care of them." Answers another voice I hadn't heard of. A door opens.
"Is it true? Is she his son?" A woman's voice asks.
"Yes it's true." Says the second voice I heard.
"So does she have the..powers?" Asks the first voice.
"Yes she does I already ran some experiments she's the same as her father." Says the second voice again.
I slowly open my eyes as a bright background starts to come into focus.
"She's waking up!" Says the first voice.
I was in a white room that looked like a lab and nurses office. Cabinets and a sink and bottles with colored liquids sat on a counter. Sharp tools and a needle sat on the table next to me. I was on top of a white platform. A man about 20 sat at a chair next to the platform staring at me. A tall angry looking man with a funny looking mustache and coal black eyes stood near a glass door staring at me too. A African American women around 20 near the door as well behind the tall man. I sat up.
"Where in the world am I?" I say putting my palm on my all the sudden aching head. I tried to stand up but I felt something jerk me back into place. I looked at my wrists, they were chained down as well as my ankles.
"What the heck!?" I yell freaking out. My legs had bandages all over and some on my arms. I could see blood had started to soak though on some.
"Calm down." Says the man in the chair standing up and walking towards me.
"No!" I scream. "Where am I?" I see the man and woman back up as if they were scared of me. I struggle from the chains even though the pain from my injuries hurt. I yell again,
"Where am I?!"
"Luke I think you should make her sleep again." The woman says talking to the man in front of me. He nods.
"No! Don't do that! What's happening to me!" I scream squirming. The man grabs a needle next to me and reaches in a drawer and grabs a clear liquid and connects it to the needle. He walks toward me and held my arm so he can inject it.
"No stop!" I yell. I feel the liquid coming into my veins. I turn my head to see a glass wall with another lab looking place and sitting on that bed was Mike sound asleep.
"Mike!" I yell looking at his cold body through the glass. I cry as my thoughts are saying,
"He's dead he's head he's dead!"
I hear the people quiet down as I let out a weak yell for Mike and then again everything went black.
-------------------------------------------------------
"Katie," says a voice, "Katie wake up." I open my eyes to see I'm at my house in my bedroom in my bed. I see my father hovering above the bed looking at me with his gentle blue eyes.
It was dark out my window but my light was on in my room.
"Yes dad?" I hear my voice ask.
"You fell asleep without your story." He says with a gentle smile.
"Dad I'm too old for stories." I say to him.
"Never too old for my stories." He laughs. I sit up and say,
"Ok. Hit me with a story."
He looks into my eyes the way he always does when he tells me a story.
"Once upon a time, there was a young woman. She lived on an island by herself. She wished every night that she could find someone to love and call hers."
"Dad you've told me this one like 80 times already!" I laugh.
"The woman wandered through the trees and stumbled on a old withered tree. It was turning pale and leaves no longer hung on it. Twigs on the tree where what used to be branches. The woman saw the tree and came closer. She sat down next to it and said,
"I am so sorry that you have died." She hugged the tree and felt all the trees thoughts, sadness, loneliness, and love. She stopped hugging the tree and started walking away. She turned again and waved to the tree. As she did the tree started to grow. Branches grew thick and healthy and leaves sprouted all around it. The girl stood there in awe until the tree was finished growing. It grew into a giant healthy tree. A normal tree she thought. But it was not. Under the trees bark sat a young man standing in the trunk of the tree.
"How beautiful you are!" Exclaimed the woman running towards it. She was so happy she sung a song,"
My dad looked at me,
"C'mon, you know the lyrics."
I sat up more and began to sing,
"In this forest I shall stay, healing nature, healing life. In this forest I will grow, till I die old. In this forest nature blooms, as so does my love for you. I feel apart, but you are near, and so I shall stay and wait for you my dear. In this forest I shall stay, healing nature, healing life. In this forest I love you, so I will stay and heal you. I feel apart but you are near, and so I shall stay and wait for you my dear. Your my love so I sing a song because you are my forest," I smile once I've finished.
"As the woman sang the man woke up and listened. He fell in love. As years went by the tree grew from love. The woman visited everyday and sang the same song. The man sang along but she could not hear him. One day when the woman visited she sat down next to the tree and hugged it again but felt, love and sadness. On the inside of the tree the man felt her hug. When he did something happened. The roots on the tree snapped. The tree tumbled down to the ground and spilt open. The man crawled out and saw the woman. They ran to eachother and sang there song together. While singing the man pulled out a bright blue ring with a small picture of a forest on it and put it in her finger. They held hands as the woman sang the last line,"
I sing once again, "Your my love and your my life, so I let you know that I will be your wife."
"The end." My dad said kissing my forehead.
"Thanks dad." I said hugging him.
"Your welcome sweet heart." And then he left.
I hummed the song in my head and drifted off the sleep.
-------------------------------------------------------Ooooooo lots of questions? I hope so. Why is her dad here telling a story? Where is this girl? Why is Mike cold as ice? What did her dad's story have to do with the story? Who knows. But stuff is about to happen everyone!
I'm trying to write longer chapters so I hope that was long😂
Next chapter will hopefully be out this weekend so until then, stay with me!
