If I Could Run

Chapter 19

Last night was amazing. I found out that I have water powers. And I know now how to get that Crystal. I need to take it and destroy it. Then those evil people will never be able to use it. Then they wouldn't need my father and I could save him. I sat up in my bed. I looked to the clock in the side table, 9:50am. I got up and ran out my door to Mike's room. I had to tell him. I knocked on his door.
"Come in." I heard him say from the other side of the door. I opened the door and walked in quickly closing the door behind me. "Oh hi Katie." He said sitting up from his bed. He was still sleeping?
"Your still sleeping?" I ask
"Well not anymore." He says rubbing his eyes. I notice he's not wearing a shirt. "What do you need?" He asks looking at me.
"Oh well I need to show you something." I say smiling. He looks at me funny.
"Ok show me." He replies.
"No I can't here!" I tell him afraid of letting anyone else know. He stand up and he's wearing spongebob sweatpants. I laugh.
"What?" He says.
"I just love you." I say kissing him. I grab him hand and lead him to my rooms bathroom.
"Ok watch this." I say kneeling next to the bathtub. He leans on the closed bathroom door and watches.
I put my hands out and take a deep breath.
"Water" I say. The water comes out like a faucet and pours into the tub. I look back at his shocked face.
"That's what your dad was talking about!" He says excitedly. The water stopped. "I can't believe you can't do that!" He yells.
"Shhhh!" I say running over to him. "I don't want anyone else to know!" He nods.
"Should we go back?" He asks
"Well ya!" I say as if it's obvious, "my dad is still down there and we need to find out what they are gonna do to that crystal."
We walk out the bathroom and walk down to the breakfast table where lunch was starting to be set up. My moms walks into the room already dressed in a white shirt with a red Hawaiian flower on it and jeans. She smiles and walks over to me.
"Hey sweetie," she says, "are you excited?" She says. I give a confused look.
"For what?" I say stupidly. She chuckles.
"Are you so in love that you can't remember that your birthday is tomorrow?" She finishes.
"Oh!" I say laughing, "right, yes I am excited, and yes I am in love." She smiles and leaves the room. I turn to Mike who is smiling. He kisses me. He takes my hand and seats us at the table. Our seats are right next to eachother. We start kissing.
"Eh hem." Says a voice. We stop kissing and see his father looking at us. "Contain yourselves." He chuckles as he turns to leave.
Mike and I laugh. I kiss him one more time and then everyone sits down. We eat pancakes and bacon and drink orange juice. After breakfast I show Mike all my water skills in the bathroom. We sit down on the couch and talk. Talking soon turns to making out. Then the door barges open. It's Amelia.
"Get away from my Bestie Mike," she says sitting between us on the couch. "Go away we need to talk." Mike stands up and leaves laughing.
"What?" I ask.
"We're throwing a party for your birthday tomorrow, and you need a dress." She smiles. My eyes light up. We run out the door and drive  to the mall. Amelia was wearing a white skirt with a pink floral shirt sleeve tucked into it. She also had pink flats. I was wearing dark shorts with black lace and a black and grey striped long sleeve shirt and black sneakers. She dragged me into a store and we stares looking at dresses. We walked around looking at things and talking. I talked about Mike and she made fake gagging noises. She actually was super happy about us together. All the sudden her eyes glow and she runs off to see a dress she likes. I laugh and start walking more. Suddenly my eyes meet the perfect dress.
It was a short teal dress with little jewels on the top. It was strapless. It was beyond gorgeous. I found one my size and ran to Amelia.
"Oh my god!" She squeals to the dress, "go put it on!" She pushes me into a dressing room and waits for me outside. I slip it on. Before I walk out I look at myself in the mirror. My brown hair was wavy from the beach last night. It fell over my shoulders, I smiled and opened the door. Her jaw dropped.
"Buy it now!" She yells. We check out and being our dresses and shoes home. My shoes were the teal color and some little jewels all over. We drive home and it's now 6:30 we ate at the mall so we went hungry for dinner. I put my dress in the closet as with the shoes. I sat in my bed excited to wear it tomorrow. I get into my pajamas. A dark blue tank top and black shorts. I walk out my room and go find Mike in his room. He's sitting on his bed with his head phones in. He didn't head of see me walk in and he was singing to the song on his phone,
"Want To Want Me" was the song. His voice was beautiful. I knock on the door again harder and he looks up and sees me. He takes out his headphones and smiles,
"Oh hey." He says nervously
"You have the best voice ever." I say smiling closing the door. He smiles.
"Thanks." I sit next to him in his bed. He lies down and I lay next to him. His arm is around me and my head is on his chest. He pulls over his phone and puts in a ear bus and hands me the other one. We listen the song finish and then the next song plays,
"Beneath Your Beautiful" just started. When the guy starts singing in the song Mike sings.
I listen to his voice and smile. He stand up and unplugs the headphones letting the music play out loud. He extends his hand to me and I take it. He pulls me into a his arms and rocks me back and forth in his arms. I sang my parts and he sang his. We sang to the song. When the last line rolled around he slowly dipped me as we sang,
"See beneath your beautiful, tonight." We kissed. We lied down in his bed and cuddles and I fell asleep in his arms.
