JEEVIKA
Sitting on the couch all dressed up in heavy lehnga and jewellery, helpless, only able to think about him, MY RUDRA, whom I loved with all my heart. I was thinking of the moments when we made promises to each other. My heart wrenched on the thought of him. My eyes turned watery and tears started to fall from my eyes all of a sudden.
My thoughts were disturbed by the voice of my cousin sister, Shreesha my only sister who understands me very well. I share my problems with her since my childhood and she gives me the best of advice that she can. She knew about my Rudra since Day1 of our friendship and when we came into a relationship, she was the first one to know about it.
"Kaha khoyi ho moon?",asked my sister.
I didn't reply and kept on weeping silently. She came infront of me, wiped my tears off and said, "Ab jo hona tha hogaya moon, tum apna best try ki thi iss baat ko Rudra bhi samjhega!".( You tried your best moon, Rudra will understand you and your efforts."
I hummed listening to this, tears streaming down from my red eyes. "Accept whatever is happening in your life, moon. Accept that maybe God has decided something else for you."
I kept on thinking that why ME God whyyy MEE? I was sure in my mind that I would never accept this marriage. I also thought that what kind of person am I marrying to who didn't even asked me once whether it's my wish to get married to him or not. But it was not his fault in this, he came to talk to me the day when our parents met each other and his parents came to see me but I was hell bent on to not talk or even see the boy's face.
I was so heartbroken that I told my mother and father that since this marriage is taking place because of you both and the groom is also only of YOUR choices, so you solely do the preparations of this wedding and I'm not at all interested in the preparations of this marriage. They chose my clothes and the jewels that I'm wearing today.
They only rejected my Rudra because he was still preparing for competitive exams and he needed time which I was ready to wait for him but my parents pressurized me by saying that my age for marriage is passing fastly.
My mother came in the room and screamed all happily, "Baarat has arrived, girls come out to see the baarat."Her happiness was clearly visible on her face. There came my Papa who was equally happy like my mother and he came and kept his hand on my head with happiness. I wouldn't have accepted this marriage until it came on my father. I love my father a lot that I could not see him breaking infront of me. He has always been my ideal father and he always kept me as a princess since childhood. I still remember the moment when he said," Beta I'm ageing , I want to see your marriage before I leave this world." with tears in his eyes and those tears are the most difficult thing for me to see in his eyes.
Soon the groom was welcomed and my Shreesha Di came to take me to the wedding hall where wedding garlands has to be exchanged.
