50. Unplanned

"Don't you know? She is pregnant", doctor said and my eyes widened.

I looked at Arhaan and his reaction was the same as mine.

"She is what?", he asked.

"She is pregnant, Mr. Shrivastava"
.."weren't you both aware of this?"

Arhaan shook his head and looked at me with questions in his eyes.

"Neither did I knew", I answered immediately.

"Weren't you two planning a baby?", she asked.

"Yes we were", Arhaan replied.

"Then how didn't you both realize it. I can understand about Mr. Shrivastava but you? You're carrying that child inside you, you must have felt it, right?".

I shook my head.

"Great".

"Actually doctor, we were trying for a baby since last seven years and we didn't get any results. We even went for IVF but nothing worked, we hadn't expected this!", Arhaan explained and I nodded.

"See this is a matter of luck sir, this type miracles keeps on taking place."..."The question is little private but when did you two get physical last time?".

We paused and thought. "Two months ago", Arhaan answered.

"That's when it would have happened because she is almost 5weeks pregnant."

Arhaan's and my mouth fell open. 5weeks and we knew nothing about it?

"It happens with couples who are suffering with these kinds of problems. Often removing stress from your life or things like changing your environment helps you to conceive faster".

We looked at each other's smile with reactionless faces and then a big smile  got spread on our face.

"Is the baby fine, doctor?",Arhaan asked.

"Yes, baby is completely fine, but your wife is weak, you need to take more care of her now",she said.

"Yes doctor, I'll, I'll take care of her, of both of them", Arhaan replied and gave her a courteous smile.

"Do you both want to see the foetus? Ultrasound?",she asked.

I smiled and replied instantly,"yes yes very much yes".

She then took me and Arhaan to the ultrasound room and made me to rest on the bed.

She lifted up my kurti a little bit uptill the hem of my breast and somewhat lowered my pants.
She applied a lotion all over my tummy and pressed the machine lightly on it.

We were able to see the scan on the screen placed infront of us.
She pointed her finger towards the screen and said,"this, this is your baby".

I looked towards Arhaan and his eyes were clearly watery. I held his hands tightly and he came near me and kissed me on my temple.

We adored our baby together.
"The next time you go for a ultrasound, you'll be able to hear your child's heartbeat clearly, maybe after 10days".

We smiled and nodded. She removed the machine from my tummy and the screen went off.

What a blissful moment it was!

Then she lifted me up and I stepped down from the bed. After taking our reports and prescriptions from the doctor, we left from there.

I was super happy, Arhaan was happy, it was visible clearly in his eyes.
He stopped the car infront of a temple and came out of the car. He opened my side of door and helped me to come out carefully.

While we were heading inside the temple, he was holding my hands tightly.
"God gave us such a great happiness after years, let's thank him first",he said.
I looked into his eyes and nodded my head.

We went inside and thanked God for giving us such a wonderful gift.
We sat inside the temple itself for some 45minutes as it felt utter peace here.
Then we left from there towards our home.

When we reached home, we stepped out from the car. We went inside the house and found that everybody has already slept.

I went inside the room and changed my clothes. When I returned back inside the room, Arhaan was sitting on the sofa and a plate of food was kept on the table.

"Come,sit here", Arhaan called me.
I went and sat beside him.
He fed me from his hands and then wiped my mouth.

I shifted on my bed and covered myself from the duvet. Arhaan entered the room, switched off the main lights and turned on the night lamp.

He came and slipped inside the duvet beside me.
He placed my head on his chest and held me in his arms.

We were silent, as if we were listening each other's heartbeat.
Arhaan broke the silence and spoke,"I never thought that things will go this level of unplanned".

"Are you happy?",I asked.
"Do you really need a reply to confirm my happiness?", he laughed.
"If yes, then I'm in seventh heaven right now.".

I chuckled. He caressed my hair lightly and asked in a serious tone,"aapko jyada thakaan mehsus horahi tha na pichle kuch dinon se?".

I hummed.
"Aapne hume batane ki zarurat bhi nahi samjhi"...He then looked into my eyes and asked,"kuch hojata aapko fir,aapko pata hai na aap jaan hai humari?".

"Kuch nahi hota hume,aap the na hamare saath",I replied.

He placed his hand on my tummy and asked,"aur Issey?".

"I'm sorry na, ab se khyal rakhenge hum,pakka", I said with a pout.

He kissed me on my pout and said,"meri Jaan,aap dono sabse zaruri  hissa hai humari zindagi ka, dhyan nahi rakhengi toh kaise chalega, bataiye?".

I hummed.

After a minute of silence I asked,"Maa-papa ko kab bataenge?".

"Kal subhe",he replied.

"Aap hi bataiyega, hum nahi bata paenge", I replied back.

"This shy, abhi bhi?", he laughed.

He slapped on his chest and said,"Haan toh?".

"Acha meri Jaan, hum hi bataenge",he said.

He kissed on my forehead and said,"I love you".

"I love you too Arhaan",I placed my lips against his chest.

While caressing my hair he said,"Aapko nahi lagta,ishaani ke aane se sach me ghar me khushiyan aagayi hai?".

"I think that's what happens when daughters comes in our lives"..."they turn everything beautiful around us",I replied.

He was caressing my head continuously and I slept.
