8. Puja at home

I felt extremely angry from inside when I realised that she wasn't comfortable by her brother's touch. But I stayed calm from outside and chose to not ask much questions from her because I needed to make her feel comfortable. I know why she doesn't feel good about this. The way she flinched on her brother's touch earlier indicated that he must have misbehaved with her in the past.

I gifted her a chain as our wedding gift and she liked it. I thought that maybe she will deny me when I asked her whether I can make her wear the chain or not. But she agreed.

Soon the morning took over night and my phone's alarm rang. I woke up and saw the time. It read 6:30am. I looked towards the bed and she was still sleeping with her legs around a pillow and hands holding another pillow tightly. I smiled seeing the view.

I removed the curtains of the window to let the sun light fall inside. As soon as I removed it I heard a voice from my behind, " Band kardijiye na mummy light aa rahi hai ". She spoke these words still keeping her eyes closed and I very well understood that she is blabbering in her sleep. So I put the curtains on again and went to bathroom to finish my morning business.

When I came out I found her still sleeping but let her sleep as she must be tired because of all the wedding rituals. I went out for my workout session and when I returned she was still sleeping. I saw the clock which read 7:40 and we needed to leave for her parent's house at 8:15 as the puja was to begin from 8:30am.

I could not let her sleep anymore. I went towards her and tried to wake her up by calling her name,"Jeevika"...."Jeevika, wake up". She didn't even move for once. So I tried to shook her body and she replied, " uth gaye hai hum bas 5 minute aur ", her eyes were still shut.

This time I shook her as well as called her name, " Jeeevika uth jaiye na late hojaege hum ". She hummed for once and after 15 seconds she sat up straight and looked at me with surprised eyes and exclaimed, "AAP?". I nodded my head and said, "It's 7:45 please wake up and get ready. I wouldn't have woke you up if it wasn't about visiting your parent's house".

She got up hurriedly and ran towards bathroom. I was reading newspaper when she came out from the bathroom and took out a saree from her trolley and again ran towards bathroom.

She came out after ten minutes all ready in a beautiful dark blue saree. It was holding her body perfectly making her curves visible and she was looking extremely adorable. Her hairs were wet and towel was wrapped around it.

She went towards the dressing table and let her wet hairs fall freely down her shoulders. She combed her hairs. She didn't notice that I was watching her all this time.

She wore her earrings and jewelleries. Her anklets sounded so melodious to me all of a sudden. She turned towards me and saw that my eyes were on her. She felt shy.

"I'm ready", she said in a slow voice.

I stood up from my place and went towards her. She took a step back everytime I took a step forward. Her body struck the cabinet behind her making her stop on her place.

I smiled mischievously looking at her reaction and said, "Don't worry, I need my clothes from the closet". I opened the closet and took out a matching blue kurta out of it.

"Will you please give me those clothes too which you want me to pack along with my clothes?",she said.

I took out a pair of shirt and jeans from the closet and forwarded to her.

She was about to turn when I held her wrist and she looked into my eyes. I came closer to her ears and whispered," I know we have started our relationship from the stage of friendship but at least I can expect from you to put the vermillion of my name in your hairline" and walked past her into the bathroom with a smile.

I knew she must have forgot about it as she is of course not habituated of it. I said that only to tease her a little. I stepped inside the room after taking a bath and went towards the mirror to comb my hairs. She was not inside the room so I went outside to call her, " Jeevika Jeevikaa".

She came out from my mother's room and replied,"Ji".

"Are you ready,can we leave now?", I asked. She nodded her head. I went to my mother and touched her feet and said," We will be back by tomorrow evening maa". She placed her hand on my head and came to see off us till the main gate.

I opened the door of the passenger seat for Jeevika and went to sit myself up on the driver's seat.

On the way I looked towards her and noticed that she had put the vermillion of my name in her hairline and I felt proud looking at it. I stopped near a sweet shop to buy some for her house and asked her what should I buy and she pointed out towards nariyal laddoos. I bought it and continued our journey again towards her home.
