ARHAAN
All dressed up in my sherwani and I was sitting in my car decorated with flowers and also the poster stuck on the windshield of it on which it was written "Arhaan weds Jeevika". I could se my friends, my brother and my sister, my cousins dancing infront of the car on the loud sound of DJ. Crackers started bursting as the baarat reached infront of the hotel from where the wedding was arranged.
As soon as the car stopped my brother and friends dragged me out from the car to dance along with them.
We kept on dancing for few minutes and then I went back to sit in my car. There arrived my mother-in-law with puja ki thaal in her hand and did my aarti and put Chandan on my head. She playfully pinched my nose and everyone laughed.
Then came my brother-in-laws who lifted me up in their arms and took me to the wedding hall for further rituals.
I was thinking while sitting on the sofa that when will my bride come?
I tried to talk with her the day we met but she didn't say even a word and only nodded her head in yes or no. She was looking just elegant in a simple kurti and leggings with her jhumkas on. Maybe she was shy to talk to a stranger. I was happy the day when her father informed my father that she was ready for this marriage. I too was happy. I even searched her name on Instagram and luckily I found her id. I even sent her a follow request but my bad that it still is on pending till date. Maybe she doesn't use her ig much or doesn't accept the requests of strangers.
On the day of our engagement I saw her laughing with her friends after ring exchange ceremony. She even gave a slight smile to my that day 4 or 5 times.
I stood up all of a sudden when I saw my bride entering the wedding hall along with her cousins and friends. She is looking absolutely beautiful in her red lehenga and minimal makeup. When she was about to climb on the stage my friends all of a sudden pushed me forward and I extended my hands to her for help she was shy in helding my hands at first but when she thought that she needed support she held my hand but still her lehenga seemed too heavy. So I took a step forward and lifted her lehenga up a little so that she could climb up the stage. She came up and stood by my side. Her face was held down all of this time.
Soon her sister came up along with the garlands. She hesitated at first to put it around my neck but when her sister signalled her from behind she raised her hand up but all of a sudden my friends lifted me up in the air and everyone laughed. She again raised her hand up a little but again they lifted me high in the air. Suddenly I noticed tears rolling down from her eyes and I immediately signalled my friends to put me down. I looked into her eyes and her eyes were red. I understood that it's the hardest day for her as she is about to leave her parents and so I decided not to worry her more. I signalled my friends not to lift me up and then she raised her hands up and put the garland around my neck. Then I put the garland around her neck and everyone cheered.
We sat on thee sofa for half an hour during which we photographers clicked our lots of photos with family and friends.
When we were sitting alone for few minutes I looked at her, she seemed sad. I slowly whispered, "Are you okay?". She looked into my eyes for once and then nodded her head. I suddenly remembered her tears and said to her, "Please don't cry, I understand it's hard time for you but you will worsen your health if you keep on weeping like this." On this she looked into my eyes again and this time our eyes met for a good amount of seconds. After a few minutes her sister came and took her along to their room.
