just as y/n raised her fist to knock on the door in front of her, it opened abruptly, revealing a black-haired boy in the middle of scratching his nose with his pinkie.
once kuroo recognized the girl in front of him, a grin broke out on his face. he grabbed her outstretched fist and pulled her close for a hug.
"Y/N!!"
"oh- kuroo! you're here already."
last night, y/n had taken up kenma's offer to stay at one of their houses for the weekend so she could spend more time with the boys. they decided to stay at kenma's house- actually, more like kenma decided since he wanted to use his own computer to play minecraft.
kuroo suddenly furrowed his eyebrows out of confusion, then snorted once he made sense of the situation.
"...what's so funny?"
"y/n," he backed up from the hug, giggling, "kenma's house is... that one."
her eyes followed the direction in which his finger pointed, and they landed on a light blue house just next door. "oh. not my fault your stupid houses look the same," she mumbled and turned around.
kuroo just wheezed as he locked the door to his own home, then placed his arm around y/n's shoulder to lead her to the correct house this time. dragging her suitcase along the pavement, she felt kuroo tug on her sleeve and looked up.
"look, all of them are here today."
"them" referred to a few cats scattered about kenma's porch. there was even a small grey kitten, cuddled up next to another larger cat. their round eyes followed the duo approaching them.
kuroo carefully stepped over a sprawled-out tabby cat, while y/n couldn't help but crouch down and pet the ones closest to her. all of them swarmed her afterward.
"don't tell me all of these are kenma's. i might have to steal one from him if so."
the ravenette laughed as he leaned against the wall and sneakily took many photos of y/n petting the kitties. "nah, they're all strays. kenma gave one of them food once, and then it brought all of its friends here."
"and now he's got a zoo."
kuroo kneeled next to y/n and began petting a black cat. despite all the cute animals in front of him, he found the human next to him much cuter and eyed her instead.
