chapter 32 ; aquarium date ☆

iwaizumi asked y/n to meet him at sendai umino-mori aquarium, where they'd spend his birthday and have their little date. y/n had a photoshoot beforehand, so she went straight to the aquarium afterward. sitting by the bus' window, music blasted in her headphones, making her less aware of the admiring stares she was getting from the other passengers.

her hair and makeup were perfectly done, enhancing her natural beauty even further. as the sunlight shone on her face through the glass pane, many couldn't help but think she looked straight out of a movie. some even looked down at their own outfits, wishing they made more of an effort. whoopsie

as the bus came to her stop, she picked up her tote bag and hopped off, leaving behind her new admirers. after walking for a bit, the aquarium shortly appeared in her sight; a white modern style building with big glass panes that stretched from the pavement to the top of the structure. once she pulled down her headphones, she immediately spotted iwaizumi, staring at her as if she was the only girl in the world.

quickly making her way up the steps to where he was standing, she got a good look at his outfit, which consisted of a loose navy blue t-shirt, white baggy jeans, and sneakers that matched his shirt.

"happy birthday, iwaizumi! i like your outfit, you look chic," y/n complimented, eyeing him up and down. it took the boy a while to even process what she said, as he was still wondering how he managed to get this magical being to spend the day with him.

he cleared his throat before responding, "thank you, y/n. you look stunning, seriously." subconsciously leaning a bit closer to her to get a better look, iwaizumi noticed the elegant pearl hair clip that rested on her head and the neat glitter around the corners of her eyes. he swore she looked just like a...

"a mermaid! dad, look!"

both of their heads moved towards the source of the awed voice, finding a young girl pointing right at y/n with a childlike wonder in her eyes. her other hand was taken in her father's grasp, who calmly led his child past them as if this was a normal occurrence for him. "see, dear? i told you there would be mermaids here."

"...well, i have been a fairy before."

"oh, yeah. maybe we need another cutout of your look right now, too."

"perfect, i'll just jump in one of the tanks."

iwaizumi chuckled, before holding his hand out for her to take.

"let's go then, my mermaid."
