the energetic libero actually did end up returning to practice, thanks to hinata. he wasn't officially on the team yet, though. he'd only be helping hinata with his receives, and showing off like the upperclassman he is, of course.

the karasuno volleyball team was currently in the gym for afterschool practice, most of them watching nishinoya showcase his signature move. "teach me! teach me the rolling thunder!" hinata begged, his eyes sparkling in awe.

"of course your upperclassman will! hey, y/n, did you see that??" he gushed as he turned towards the present manager.

y/n, in fact, had not seen that. she did hear him yell, though. "uhhhh-" fortunately, she was saved by the advisor, who had just run in to announce something.

"good job, everyone! i want you all to listen up!" the team crowded around takeda as he informed them of the 'Golden Week training camp' and the practice match that would be held at the end of it.

"ehh, nekoma... that's our rival school, right?"

"oh no, don't tell me the people on their team are obsessed with you too, y/n??" suga frantically questioned, shaking her shoulders. this only caused the others to get riled up as well.

"aw man, do they have a cutout of you too??" tanaka cried on the floor, picturing the possibility of more boys being practically infatuated with their manager. "...but yes, y/n. our former coach and theirs were rivals. we played each other a lot."

"woahh," hinata awed.

"that's right. those famous battles, cats versus crows."

y/n recalled something that kuroo and kenma had told her regarding the rivalry between their schools. "...trash battle or something?" she only remembered it being some odd name.

"hah, close, silly. battle at the garbage dump!" suga corrected, patting her shoulder with a proud grin.

"...oh."
'still weird,' she thought, 'sounds smelly...'

"you sure those matches are famous?" tsukishima raised an eyebrow at the description.

daichi turned to takeda, "they've refused us for a while. why now?"

"yeah, i'll tell you the details later. but after i heard about that rival school, i had to arrange for a rematch of destiny. i think when he hears about who our opponent is, he'll want to take action."
