it was the day before the practice match between karasuno and aoba johsai. to y/n's dismay, she had a modeling gig after school ended, meaning she couldn't attend practice that day. thankfully, the photo shoot was a reasonable bus ride from karasuno to the studio. she drummed her fingers on the seat to the melody of the music playing through her headphones, hoping the photoshoot wouldn't last too long.

"get home safe, miss l/n!"
"thank you for working with me!" the model spoke as she turned to leave the studio. the photoshoot was fairly quick and went smooth, and y/n even got free skincare from them as well. she stuffed the items into her schoolbag and stepped outside. by the time the photo session ended, it was already around 6 pm. the sun had just begun to set as the sky slowly faded into a light pink.
she didn't feel like eating just yet. even though she was tempted by the lovely smell of food from scattered street stands, y/n decided to explore the area a bit. her strolling soon led her to an inviting bookstore. the windows of the white brick storefront were covered by posters and postcards. the pictures featured various popular characters, watercolor art prints of fictional places, and colorful flyers announcing new volumes of books being released. bright light from inside the shop peeked through the areas of the window that weren't covered by the graphics.
figuring she had time to kill, so y/n entered the store, the bell making a little jingle noise as she did so. she was welcomed by workers and the smell of books, along with the faint scent of coffee wafting around the room. walking along the light-wooded shelves, she eventually reached the graphic novel section and picked up a copy of the latest shonen jump.
"there i am..." she mumbled as she flipped to a page and saw her face in a(n) y/n & m/n jewelry promo. the bell of the shop jingled once more as two boys walked in. they seemed familiar with the place, assumably coming in a lot.
"wakatoshi, you have my copy of last month's edition, right??"
"yes, i'm still reading it."
"you'd finish faster if you stopped reading all the adverts, ya know."
"hmm, but what they advertise is good sometimes."
"ehh?? i doubt it, you're just being tricked-!" the slightly shorter boy suddenly stopped once he got to the graphic novels section, causing the taller male behind him to bump into his friend's back.
