Chapter 7 - The #1 Hero

A/N Sorry about the delay in posting. The MHA universe has a lot of set piece locations and characters that work in isolation but are a bit harder to connect to each other. Made research a bit challenging.

"Quick thinking Gaara!" Naruto commended.

The genin were now traveling through the sand in a pocket that Gaara had created.

"I would have buried the giant. But I thought this would be better for retreating," Gaara stated.

This statement was unrecognizable to Temari and Kankuro. Gaara putting others ahead of himself? He'd been like this ever since the failed invasion of the Leaf. It was quite unnerving.

"He used to be so scary before," Kiba commented. "But now he's just... OWW!!!"

Temari had elbowed him in the side with the butt of her fan. "I'll advise you choose your words carefully."

"We have a few minutes before we run out of air. We need to get as far from here as we can," Shikamaru stated.

They had been walking for less than two minutes when Gaara stopped. "Something's coming."

Neji turned, focusing his vision in the behind them in the direction Gaara was pointing to. "It's big! Prepare yourselves."

No amount of preparation could have helped the genin deal with what came next. The ground tore open almost in an instant. A great wind had been summoned, breaking the surface violently as Gaara slammed his hands in the ground, raising a higher wall of sand whilst using more sand to lock everyone down.

"We're going to be blown away!" Sakura exclaimed.

They gritted against the strong wind pressures, even the sand that Gaara used to hold them was eroding rapidly.

"Temari... do something," Kankuro muttered.

"Can't...open...my...fan!"

"Leave it to me!" Naruto shouted. Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu! Naruto made the seal, causing more than a thousand clones to appear almost instantly. They all served as braces many of them standing behind each of the genin and holding the down. Several popping sounds spelled the demise of many of Naruto's clones who disappeared in clouds.

When the wind stopped, there were almost no clones left.

It was almost as if Kamui Woods had manifested it, that man landed on the beach with his signature, "I am here". "Texaaaas Smaaash!" he shouted, throwing a punch to create a powerful wind pressure.

This wind pressure was so great that it blasted the sandstorm off as far as it had been created, clearing the entire beach. All-Might's punch even tore open some of the ground, pushing away the wet sand but most importantly, it revealed the location of the shinobi.

It looks like evil is starting out young these days! All-might grunted. Tomura Shigaraki, you're an even bigger menace than I thought.

On the street side of the beach, a police line had been created as crowds gathered behind it. Several ambulances were there to help the police who had been saved by the hero Wash. Emergency personnel were rushing into the buildings to save people who had been injured by the shattered glass or displaced objects during the explosions.

"Are there more villains?" a male bystander asked.

"It's got to be serious if there are four pro-heroes!"

"That explosion was pretty serious though."

"All-Might is here. They'll probably go down quickly."

One of the officers on site was Officer Gori, a gorilla heteromorph. He tried to get information from the other officers before they were sent away for their checkups. None had been seriously injured besides a few scrapes and cuts, but most were pretty shaken.

"They looked like kids!" The man who had spoken to the genin shuddered. "I have a child that age. What evil would turn kids into that?"

That idea shook Officer Gori too. As a police officer, he'd never had to deal much with child offenders, and had never thought about how he'd deal with it.

"And they had no idea where they were?" He wondered. Had their memories been wiped after they'd been made into soldiers? Were they younger Nomu? But that wasn't right. Nomu were unintelligent, and couldn't talk, much less interrogate.

"Keep the crowd away," Wash told him, breaking his internal musings. "I'm going to assist in capture."

"Look out!" Neji shouted.

Right in front of Gaara, a large man appeared even before his shield of sand could react. He grabbed Gaara's face and smashed him into the ground. The other genin split almost immediately, jumping into the air. Well most of them did.

The large black void filled the area, forming the eight trigrams symbol with Neji at the center. Eight trigrams Sixty-Four Palms! He blasted straight towards All-might, hitting the big man in the abs with the first two hits. The pro-hero slammed down on the boy, completely breaking his routine and sending him into the ground. It knocked him out immediately.

"Neji! Gaara!" Naruto shouted, still in the sandpit, as his reaction had been too slow.

The hero decided to focus on those who had tried to flee, targeting them in order of perceived threat.

Ninja Art: Beetle Sphere!! Partial Expansion Jutsu! Shino thought sending his insects streaming down at the hero who blasted right through them, reaching to grab Shino.

He was punched by a large extended hand before he could do so, sending him smashing into the ground. The kids regrouped as the man landed on his feet. The genin were furious.

"Hinata, Sakura, Ino, take Lee and run! We'll deal with this," Shikamaru told them.

"But Shikamaru..." Ino started as Choji grabbed Lee from his back with his enlarged hand and gave him over.

"I'm not leaving my friends behind."

"This is not a request!! We're outclassed and outsped. We can only try and buy you guys time!"

"Right!" Hinata muttered.

They turned to All-might who had that signature big smile on his face. He hadn't been fazed by either Shino or Choji's attack.

"He doesn't look like he'll just let anyone leave," Shino noted.

"We'll have to create an opening," Tenten said. "You guys will have to slow him down. Once that happens, I have something."

"I'm going to kill him!!" Kankuro snapped, both Crow and Ant were out now. "Ready Temari?" She didn't respond. He turned to his sister who was paralyzed with fear. "Temari?"

"He...he took Gaara out... in one shot?" she shook. "It's hopeless!"

"Snap out of it!" Kankuro snapped. "We need your wind to slow him down!"

"We'll have to do without her," Shikamaru stated. "I have a plan!"
